Amber Heard has been in the public eye for quite some time now and recently, is all over the news. The infamous Heard-Depp Trial took place all of April and was live-streamed for everyone to watch. A lot of different people were involved with the trial, and it opened up discussions of both Heard and Depp's past relationships. One of the relationships that was heavily dug into and talked about was that of Amber Heard and ex-girlfriend, Tasya Van Ree.

Amber Heard And Tasya Van Ree Dated For Four Years

Tasya Van Ree is a painter and photographer. Amber and Tasya were together for four years from 2008-2012. While the two were together it was reported that Amber actually changed her last name to Van Ree. The relationship was kept pretty private, but they were once spotted at a fashion show together.

Amber came out as bisexual in 2010, while she was dating Tasya for two years. She said, "I hate the idea of a label just as much as anyone else, but I'm with who I'm with, I love who I love." At the time the two were together, gay marriage was not legalized yet.

So while the two seemed pretty in love, when they broke up people still speculated that they were still friends and there wasn't any hard feelings. Amber went back to having Heard as her last name. The actual cause for their split wasn't revealed and no one really knows. But an altercation that occurred in their relationship came to the public eye once the trial began.

An 'Altercation' Between Amber And Tasya Was Dug Up For The Depp Case

Amber was questioned for two days during the trial about her relationship with Tasya due to the altercation. The alleged altercation took place back in 2009, where it is reported that Amber grabbed Tasya and hit her. Amber was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, but the charges were later dropped.

Even though Tasya came out with a statement denying that it ever happened and Amber denied on the stand that it happened, people still believe it took place. Tasya did not speak at the trial. Public opinion was a huge aspect of the trial and many were not on Amber's side. She received a lot of public negativity from the trial. It was obvious that the majority of the public was on Johnny Depp's side rather than Amber's.

Although Tasya and Amber seem to have no current problems, are they on good terms? She hasn't commented since the trial but in a past interview, she said, "Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared 5 wonderful years together."

Here's What Amber Heard Has Been Up To Lately

Everyone knows that Johnny Depp won the trial, but what does that mean for Amber Heard? After the trial, she took to Instagram to express her thoughts. She expressed her disappointment about the verdict and how a verdict like this could affect other women who want to come forward about domestic abuse. She recently revealed in an interview that she understands why people sided with Depp due to him being a beloved character and a fantastic actor.

Since the trial, Amber's attorneys have asked the court to "throw out" the $10 million verdict. She has also sat down for an interview with the Today show co-host, Savannah Guthrie. She was asked questions about the trial and her thoughts. Although, it seems the public mainly sided with Depp, many celebrities came out to support Amber Heard. Some of them included Amy Schumer, Howard Stern, and Julia Fox. Schumer stated that she was "disappointed" with the verdict and Fox stated that Amber "never had the power" to abuse Depp.

While there is a lot of talk about Amber Heard, there isn't much about Tasya Van Ree. Due to their relationship being private, it makes sense that Tasya has not commented on what has been happening in the public eye. What fans do know is that Tasya denied that the 2009 altercation ever happened.

At the end of the day it is clear both Amber Heard and Depp want to move on with their lives. And while these two will never speak again, it is still unclear if Amber Heard and Tasya Van Ree still hold a friendship.
