Long before Keanu Reeves stepped out with his most recent girlfriend Alexandra Grant, fans have been obsessed with his love life. Between his rumored marriage to Winona Ryder, his long-ago crush on Sandra Bullock, and various rumored Hollywood romances, it's obvious Keanu can nab any leading lady he'd like.
So from the moment he went public with Grant (in 2019, apparently about a year after they got together), onlookers wanted all the details. The LA-based artist, who has a long list of galleries on her resume, had been friends with her movie star beau for years, and they even collaborated back in the day. When it turned romantic, all eyes were on the pair.
Unfortunately for fans, neither Reeves nor Grant seems to be keen on spilling the relationship beans.
Instead, the pair has quietly flown under the radar for years, leading the public to wonder whether they're even still together.
Are Keanu Reeves And Alexandra Grant Still Together?
Since Keanu doesn't talk about his personal life much, and has a stark absence from social media, fans have to do some digging to find out who he's dating and how it's going. Of course, it doesn't help for them to start at Alexandra Grant's social media pages; she doesn't brag at all about her high-profile beau (which might just be the reason why Keanu seems so smitten).
However, it does seem that the two are still together, at least as of mid-2022. People reported in early June that Keanu and his leading lady offered fans a "rare red carpet appearance" where they looked absolutely in love.
Images from the red carpet (which was for the 2022 MOCA Gala in LA) show the pair holding hands, laughing, and of course, posing for photos snapped by the event's photographers.
Despite their happiness on the carpet, the two don't seem keen on stepping out into the spotlight often.
Keanu And His Girlfriend Keep Their Relationship Quiet
Though Grant and Reeves both seem happy enough in their relationship, neither party seems to want to talk about it much. Case in point? Keanu doesn't seem to have named his girlfriend in any interviews, though he has skated around the issue by answering questions about love in general.
Alexandra may not mind, though; in early 2020, she did address the romance, acknowledging that it had brought her much media attention, and that she was hoping to get something out of it.
What she wanted, Alexandra told Vogue, was to find an "opportunity for good" with her newfound fame. While Keanu is a much-loved public icon, fans were already getting to the point about his pairing with Grant; even her friends called her up asking questions and prying into her life.
So Grant decided she'd take advantage, in a good way.
And the artist was good-natured about the publicity, joking that as six foot one, with "white hair," she definitely stood out on Keanu's arm.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, though.
The Two Are Romantic And Creative Together
When it comes to Keanu and Alexandra's relationship, sure, they keep things mum for the most part. But they're not shy about working together (and when was the last time Keanu attended an art exhibit on his own?).
In fact, the two have published two books together, involving Keanu's poetry and Alexandra's photography, and that was before they even began dating.
Clearly, the business partnership turned into something more. Fortunately for Keanu, Alexandra was a friend at first, and has never been starstruck by the actor, nor has she dated a laundry list of famous men.
Will Keanu And Alexandra Ever Get Married?
After his long tenure as "the internet's boyfriend," fans are wondering whether this is it for Keanu. Will Keanu Reeves marry Alexandra Grant? Has he already proposed? Maybe they secretly tied the knot when no one was looking?
According to Alexandra, back in 2020, she wouldn't necessarily avoid marriage if it came up.
In her interview with Vogue, Grant played coy and said that love is important to her, and admitted she does not believe in "isolation." Rather, she enjoys and "deeply values" relationships, but... that doesn't say much about her desire to get married (or not).
For now, fans will just have to wait for news and hope that it's good. In the meantime, it seems Keanu and Alexandra will continue to enjoy their lowkey romance as far out of the public eye as possible. Except, of course, when they're attending art exhibitions or fundraisers as the adorably charitable and people-pleasing celebrities they are.
