Just a few years ago, there were always news stories about Taylor Swift and her Girl Squad. Model Karlie Kloss was a member and there were always photos of the two stars out and about.

Fans love hearing about how Swift writes songs and who she's currently dating, and her famous friendships are also top of her mind for the people who follow along with her amazing music career.

Are Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss still close? Let's take a look at what we know about their friendship.

Still Pals

Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney get along, but what about Swift and Karlie Kloss?

There are some ways to tell that Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift are still good friends. For one thing, Kloss often says that they are friends: according to Elite Daily, she told Time, “Taylor’s incredible, and I feel really lucky to call her a friend" in 2019.

Another positive thing to note is that Kloss loves Folklore and has shared about it. It's hard to imagine that she would want to say nice things about the album if they had a fight or if they weren't pals anymore.

According to E Online, Kloss liked many posts on social media about the album, and she also posted a photo of herself in front of a tree. This seemed like a huge deal, as Swift had just posted pictures where she was in a forest.

Kloss and Swift have been friends since 2012, which is definitely a long time, especially in Hollywood. According to Elle, Swift was on the cover of Vogue in 2012 and said, "I love Karlie Kloss. I want to bake cookies with her!" They went on a road trip together in 2014 and over the next few years, there were many photos of them hanging out.

In 2016, Kloss posted a birthday message to Swift and said, "Happiest of Birthdays to my ride or die."

In the summer of 2018, Kloss posted a photo of her and Swift at the Nashville stop of the Reputation tour. She captioned the photo with "No one puts on a show like @taylorswift." She also said she was so proud of her.

The Scooter Braun Issue

After Ithaca Holdings, the company that Scooter Braun owns, purchased Swift's catalog of music, people said that Karlie Kloss was unsupportive of Swift.

According to Buzzfeed, Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid publicly said that they were on Swift's side, but people noted that Kloss didn't say anything.

Fans were really upset because on the same day that Swift talked about what happened with Braun, Kloss shared some pictures of herself. According to Buzzfeed, it appears that Kloss stayed mum about the situation because she could have been a client of Braun's and it seems like they get along really well. It's also important to note that Joshua Kushner, Kloss's husband, has ties to an investment company called the Carlyle Group, which was involved in Bruan buying the record label.

A Fight?

There is some chatter that Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift might have had an argument or some kind of trouble in their friendship, but there's definitely no evidence that is the case.

Buzzfeed notes that people started wondering if they were still friends because when Swift created a Junior Jewels t-shirt for heIr music video for "Look What You Made Me Do," she didn't put Kloss's name on it. Fans were also sure that they were issues between them because when Kloss got married to Joshua Kushner (twice), Swift wasn't there.

According to Elle, this began in 2018. Jennifer Lawrence was interviewed and said she would love "to know what's going on with Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift." Shortly after, Kloss said that she and Swift were friends and "Don't believe everything you read."

When writing a piece of Elle about "30 things she learned before turning 30," Taylor Swift said that she really enjoyed having these female friendships. She wrote, "In my twenties I found myself surrounded by girls who wanted to be my friend. So I shouted it from the rooftops, posted pictures, and celebrated my newfound acceptance into a sisterhood, without realizing that other people might still feel the way I did when I felt so alone. It’s important to address our long-standing issues before we turn into the living embodiment of them."

Reading Swift's words, it seems like she really treasures the people she lets into her social circle, and fans definitely hope that Kloss and Swift are still BFFs. Of course, they know the real story, but it does seem like they've been close for several years.
