Teresa Giudice is one of the few remaining original Real Housewives cast members after joining the cast of RHONJ back in 2009. Following her table flip, Giudice has been deemed a reality TV icon, and rightfully so.
It seems as if the drama only continued for Teresa when her sister-in-law and brother, Melissa and Joe Gorga joined the series in its third season. After keeping her family away from the cameras for two seasons prior, all the Gorga family dirty laundry came out and has been out ever since.
Despite making amends and finally joining forces, Teresa and Melissa still don't seem to be as close as they appear to be on camera. Well, after the most recent season 12 reunion, the duo shared an update on their real-life relationship status, and it seems as if fans' suspicions have been correct all along.
Teresa And Melissa Are Not Friends In Real Life
Teresa Giudice, the reigning queen of RHONJ has been carrying the series on her back since she flipped a table on former cast member, Danielle Staub.
Since then, the drama has been about Teresa and her family, Melissa and Joe, who allegedly joined the show behind Giudice's back. This is when the drama really came to a head where fans were able to witness the Gorga's go after one another season after season.
Well, following Teresa's stint in prison back in 2015, Giudice managed to mend things with her brother and sister-in-law, vowing to never let things get as bad as they once were.
Although they have managed to keep the family together, Teresa and Melissa are not friends in real life. While they appear chummy on camera, it has become evident that the two do not hang out when the cameras aren't filming.
Certainly, the two see one another during family events, but do Teresa and Melissa hang out? Nope! Both Tre and Melissa revealed this tidbit of information during the season 12 reunion where they both admitted that they aren't close off-camera.
Additionally, Melissa spoke to TMZ during a night out where she claimed that she and Teresa are "good," but when asked about their relationship as friends, she made it clear they weren't in the nicest way possible.
“Are you guys on good terms?” the paparazzi asked. “Yeah. We’re family. So, we’re always on good terms,” Melissa said.
“We’re family. We’re good. We’re good,” she went on.
“How did you work it out? Did you meet up off-camera at least?” TMZ asked. “No. We don’t meet up off-camera,” Melissa responded. Yikes!
Teresa & Melissa Have Been At Odds For Years
While Teresa and Melissa not being friends IRL might come as a shock to many, considering the duo have really become closer on RHONJ, it's no surprise when you look at their past.
Teresa and Melissa have always disliked one another, since the day Melissa and Joe got married, Gorga has said on the show many times before. Although Teresa denies being jealous and claims she always wished for a sister, the two just never got on.
From family feuds in Arizona, flipping out at a christening, all the way to #SprinkleCookiesGate — Teresa and Melissa have never been close, and true RHONJ fans have known that for a while.
Melissa Won't Be A Bridesmaid In Teresa's Wedding
To add further salt to the wound, Teresa Giudice revealed on Watch What Happens Live! last month that Melissa will not be one of her 8 bridesmaids. Mhm...
Teresa said that her daughters will be her maids of honor, and her bridesmaids are made up of close friends, including former RHONJ castmate, Dina Manzo, and her sisters-in-laws to be — but not her current sister-in-law.
Giudice pointed out that she and Melissa aren't close IRL, so why would she have included her in her wedding party if they don't have a relationship off-camera? Although Tre is right, it clearly didn't sit well with Joe Gorga.
During the season 12 reunion, Joe told Teresa that not including Melissa in the wedding was also an attack on him, considering that's her only brother. While Joe pleaded his case, Teresa isn't having any of it and has made it clear that she's planning on making her special day all about her and her hubby-to-be.
