Modern Family ended after 11 seasons, and over a decade long run on television. The show wrapped up in early April of 2020. At that point, it seemed as though Ariel Winter was content with staying in LA.

According to Daily Mail, Winter had sold her Studio City home for $2.8 million, upgrading to a home in the same neighborhood, worth $3.5 million.

Daily Mail wrote, "Winter recently traded her $2.81million farmhouse in the San Fernando Valley for a slightly more spendy $3.5million spot just neighborhoods away."

In truth, Ariel Winter's former home was quite stunning, with loads of features. Saying goodbye to the home must not have been an easy process for the sitcom star.

Daily Mail writes, "Ariel's original digs are nothing to scoff at, as the five bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom above spans over a stylish 5089 square feet and features a games lounge, walk-in closets, and ample privacy courtesy of its tall, all-encompassing hedges."

Despite the beautiful home, and being close to sets, Winter made the bold decision to leave Hollywood for good in the recent years.

According to The Dirt, Ariel Winter put her home on the market in 2022, with an asking price of $4 million. Winter opened up alongside People, discussing the reason for the move.

The Modern Family star revealed that the decision was made in order to gain a little more privacy. "Part of the reason I always hated L.A. is because I have been followed by paparazzi for a very long portion of my life," she said. "And I really, really dislike having my space invaded."

"I don't like pictures of me when I haven't signed up for pictures of me. I don't like feeling watched," she continued. "I've always just wanted to live a very, very normal life, just have a normal existence."

Winter would further reveal that the decision was brewing for quite some time.

She said, "People have always been like, 'You don't like L.A., why don't you just move?' ... And then I just randomly looked and decided, Why not?" she said. "We sold our cars, got an Escalade to fit all the dogs for the drive, put my house on the market and sold my house."

Quite the turn of events and change in lifestyle. Nonetheless, don't expect Ariel Winter to stop visiting LA for work. She's got lots of projects at the moment, including the TV series, Hungry, along with Pools and Don't Log Off which are both in the post-production phases.

Ariel Winter Was Satisfied With The Way Modern Family Ended

It was an emotional ending for Modern Family, given that the cast enjoyed 11 seasons and 250 episodes. Despite the ending, Ariel Winter took it all just fine. At the time, she was excited to work on different projects and in addition, she got great closure with her Alex character on the series.

"We had a wonderful run and I think they tied up everyone's characters really, really nicely."

She continued with Digital Spy, "We really explored [Alex] and explored her life as much as you can in a family sitcom. So I definitely was happy about the way her story ended and the way everyone's story ended," she said.

It is safe to say Winter's personal life has changed drastically since the sitcom came to an end.
