Aubrey Plaza’s career began when she started performing improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in the mid-2000s. She also ventured into stand-up comedy and even appeared at the Laugh Factory and The Improv during the early years of her career.

Shortly enough, Aubrey began landing small roles in TV shows, like the online series The Jeannie Tate Show, ESPN’s Mayne Street, and Terrible Decision with Ben Schwarts on Funny or Die. And in 2009, she made her feature film debut by playing Seth Rogen’s love interest in Funny People, a comedy movie directed by Judd Apatow. That same year, she starred in the cult-classic coming-of-age film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, as well as in Derrick Comedy’s Mystery Team.

She finally got her big break when she landed the role of April Ludgate in the sitcom Parks and Recreations, created by Greg Daniels y Michael Schur. Plaza’s character soon became a fan-favorite and she would go on to play April during the show’s seven seasons, from 2009 to 2015.

In 2012, Plaza got her first leading film role in Safety Not Guaranteed. Following this, she appeared in many other movies, including The To Do List (2013), Life After Beth (2014), Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016), Child's Play (2019), and Happiest Season (2020), Black Bear (2020), and Emily the Criminal (2022).

Aubrey even revealed the one piece of advice Chris Pratt gave her when they worked together. Although she ignored this rule in the past, this White Lotus star has now realized that his Parks and Recreation co-star was completely right.

“Chris Pratt used to tell me when he would give me advice: ‘The separation is in the preparation.’” She revealed, “he’s one of those people who’s always very prepared. I was kind of the opposite. Clearly, it worked out for him.”

Although she didn’t always follow Chris Pratt’s advice, things have clearly gone well for Aubrey Plaza. According to IMDb, this actress has more than 80 acting credits under her belt, including a big role in Guy Ritchie’s new action movie Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre.

Aubrey Plaza And Chris Pratt Developed A Close Relationship While Playing Romantic Interests In This Beloved Sitcom

During her time in Parks and Recreation, Aubrey Plaza worked closely with Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt (who played the lovable and goofy Andy Dwyer). For the most part of the show, they played romantic interests on screen, becoming one of the fan-favorite couples on the show. Behind the scenes, Plaza and Pratt developed a close friendship.

Although Parks and Recreation came to an end a long time ago, and they’ve taken on some bigger projects, it seems that the two co-stars still maintain a close relationship. Plaza has also admitted that she thinks that Katherine Schwarzenegger is very lucky to have married Chris Pratt.
