For actors working Hollywood, certain times in their career can be tough. As you may know, there is a lot of great talent working in the entertainment industry today. And sometimes, these actors tend to vie for the same roles.
Indeed, there is a lot of competition throughout Hollywood. And for films that are intended for box office success, studios often choose to go with an A-list actor, someone who is known to turn a film into quite a hit. This is why you hear a great deal of buzz when you hear about a film being done by the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, and several others.
Meanwhile, in the television industry, actors such as Kerry Washington, Mark Harmon, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Sofia Vergara, Ellen Pompeo, Jessica Lange, Claire Danes and more tend to enjoy amazing careers.
On the other hand, there are also those that are considered B-list actors. And while a lot of them show great professionalism and talent, there are also those that are said to be difficult to work with. Here are eight that we discovered to be so, along with seven that are currently staging a comeback:
15 No One Wants to Work With: Shannen Doherty
In the past, Shannen Doherty was a prominent actress on television, appearing in hit shows, such as “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Charmed.”
However, cast members claim she was quite the diva. In fact, an excerpt from a memoir written by Jason Priestley noted, “Her butt had barely hit her seat before she said loudly to the PR person, 'Really? A town car? You send a town car to take me to the airport, not a limo?' She sighed a very put-upon sigh. I laughed, as I couldn't really tell if Shannen was kidding or not.”
14 No One Wants to Work With: Amanda Bynes
For quite some time, it looked like Amada Bynes’ career was doing really great. She starred in films, such as “Easy A,” “Hairspray,” and “She’s the Man.” At the same time, she also starred in the tv show “What I Like About You.”
But Bynes suddenly decided to turn to drugs. During an interview with Paper Magazine, she recalled, “When I was doing [2011 film] Hall Pass, I remember being in the trailer and I used to chew the Adderall tablets because I thought they made me [more] high [that way].” She eventually pulled out of the film.
13 No One Wants to Work With: Mike Myers
Mike Myers is best known for his work in the ‘Austin Powers’ films. On-screen, he is truly hilarious and engaging. Behind the scenes, however, there are reports claiming that Myers is not the easiest person to get along with.
During an interview with The A.V. Club, actress Amy Hill said that Myers was a “diva” while working on “The Cat in the Hat.” Meanwhile, Rob Fried, who worked with Myers on “So I married an Axe Murderer,” told The Telegraph, “I think Mike's a visionary, but his way of getting what he wants is to remote and threaten and express anger.”
12 No One Wants to Work With: Constance Wu
In recent times, Constance Wu rose to fame after starring in the hit movie “Crazy Rich Asians.” Since then, however, she has had to deal with some bad publicity, especially after releasing a series of rants on Twitter regarding the renewal of her tv show “Fresh Off the Boat.”
Meanwhile, Wu also came under fire after Page Six released a report claiming that the actress is demanding top billing for her upcoming movie “Hustlers.”
11 No One Wants to Work With: January Jones
It seems that the “X-Men: First Class” and “Mad Men” actress has ruffled a lot of feathers over the years. During an interview with ShortList magazine, Zach Galifianakis talked about meeting Jones in the party and being asked to leave after talking to her for 10 minutes.
Galifianakis recalled, “So I say, 'January, you are an actress in a show and everybody's going to forget about you in a few years, so be nice,' and I got up and left.”
10 No One Wants to Work With: Shia LaBeouf
As you may know, this ‘Transformers’ actor tends to exhibit eccentric and bizarre behavior from time to time. In fact, Esquire writer Eric Sullivan noted, “While filming Lawless, he drank moonshine by the gallon, carved a message from his character into the door of Mia Wasikowska's hotel room, and knocked out Tom Hardy.”
Meanwhile, on the set of “Charlie Countryman,” LaBeouf reportedly “dropped acid and choked the director when he tried to break for lunch.”
9 No One Wants to Work With: Lindsay Lohan
She may have started working in Hollywood when she was just a kid. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that Lindsay Lohan has always known how to conduct herself in a professional manner. Case in point was her difficult behavior on the set of “Georgia Rule.”
According to People, Morgan Creek Productions CEO James G. Robinson had to write her a letter that said, “You have acted like a spoiled child and in so doing have alienated many of your co-workers and endangered the quality of this picture.”
8 No One Wants to Work With: Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl gained her difficult reputation after it was revealed that Heigl removed herself from Emmy consideration for her role on “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Meanwhile, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, a person who worked with the actress on “Life As We Know It” claimed, “She can cost you time every single day of shooting.”
7 Staging a Comeback: Alicia Silverstone
Perhaps, actress Alicia Silverstone is best known for her hit teen movie “Clueless.” Since then, she went on to star as Batgirl or Barbara Wilson in 1997’s “Batman & Robin.” This was also quickly followed up by a role in the movie “Excess Baggage.”
However, in recent years, we haven’t really heard much from Silverstone. That is all about to change since Silverstone is expected to appear in a couple of films and the tv series “The Baby-Sitters Club.”
6 Staging a Comeback: Melissa George
Melissa George is an amazing actress who is known for her work in films such as “30 Days of Night,” “Derailed,” “The Amityville Horror” and more. Moreover, she’s also worked on tv series such as “Alias,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Slap” and “Hunted.” In recent years, working became difficult for the actress.
According to a report from Now to Love, George shares custody of her two children with former husband, Frenchman Jean David Blanc, and she cannot take them out of Paris without Blanc’s consent due to a court restriction. Nonetheless, she currently stars in the Australian show “Bad Mothers.”
5 Staging a Comeback: Bethany Joy Lenz
You may remember Bethany Joy Lenz as the actress who portrayed the role of Hailey Scott on the hit tv drama “One Tree Hill.” Since then, Lenz has picked up a number of roles and even appeared on various television movies for the Hallmark Channel.
And recently, Lenz also suited up to star opposite Gina Torres in the USA tv series “Pearson.”
4 Staging a Comeback: Kirsten Dunst
For quite some time, actress Kirsten Dunst was among the most visible faces in Hollywood. Over the years, she starred in movies such as “Spider-Man,” “Marie Antoinette,” “Elizabethtown,” “Wimbledon,” “Mona Lisa Smile,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and many others.
In recent years, it doesn’t appear that Dunst has worked much although it looks like things are about to change. In fact, she’s set to appear on Showtime’s “On Becoming a God in Central Florida.”
3 Staging a Comeback: Jesse Eisenberg
Jesse Eisenberg is an amazing actor known for his work on films such as “The Social Network,” “To Rome with Love,” “Now You See Me,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and several others. And while he’s been quite active in recent years, it seems Eisenberg has been appearing in fewer films.
Fortunately, according to records from IMDb, Eisenberg is set to appear in a number of films, including “Zombieland: Double Tap,” “Resistance,” “The Medusa” and the announced “Justice League Part Two.”
2 Staging a Comeback: Robert Pattinson
He may have been appearing in several films in recent years, but Robert Pattinson hasn’t been making as much noise as he used to when he was starring in the ‘Twilight’ films.
Fortunately for this actor, it seems that the spotlight will be on him once more. After all, he’s just been chosen to suit up as Batman, replacing actor Ben Affleck in the process.
1 Staging a Comeback: Will Smith
For quite some time, actor Will Smith had a prominent presence in the film industry. We’re talking about someone who starred in hit movies, such as “Independence Day,” “Men in Black,” “Enemy of the State,” “Hitch,” The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Hancock” and many others. Meanwhile, seeing him in the recent Disney hit “Aladdin” made us realize just how much we want to keep seeing him on the big screen.
Fortunately, Smith is slated to appear in “Gemini Man,” “Bad Boys for Life,” “King Richard” and “Bad Boys 4,” according to records from IMDb.
