The Bachelor franchise is famous for producing dramatic relationships that don’t last. There are some lucky ones that make it after the show’s over, but most of them don’t last more than a year or two if that. As sad as it is, break ups have become a common theme in The Bachelor series. It’s usually because the show’s producers force The Bachelor or Bachelorette to choose someone to get engaged to even if they’re not truly in love with them.

This has caused some extra-dramatic moments, including when Arie broke up with Becca on camera and proposed to Lauren seconds later. Becca and Arie aren’t the only relationship that hasn’t worked out though. Here are 10 couples from The Bachelor Nation who broke up right after the show.

10 Krystal And Chris

Krystal and Chris got married about two years ago, but they broke up before they celebrated their first anniversary. “Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone met on Bachelor in Paradise and were married in June 2019. They weren't even married for a year when they publicly announced their separation in February,” according to Screen Rant. Krystal moved on quickly and had a baby in March with her new boyfriend, Miles Bowles.

9 Hannah And Peter

When Peter was the season 24 lead on The Bachelor, he caused a lot of drama with the contestants. According to Screen Rant, “He was one of the worst Bachelors in the history of the show, and although he has now found love with Kelley Flanagan, he took a rather circuitous route to get there. After dumping Kelley before hometowns, Peter eventually proposed to Hannah Ann, even though he didn't really see a life with her. He succumbed to the pressure of the show, and since she was the only one remaining, Peter made a decision he would soon regret. Even though overnight sensation and eventual meme Barb was head over heels in love with Hannah Ann, Peter, it turned out, was not.” Since all of the drama with her ex, Hannah has been focusing on herself and her career as an influencer.

8 Madison And Peter

Madison and Peter had one of the shortest relationships in the franchise—they weren’t even a couple for a week before they called it quits. “While Bachelor Nation relationships are notoriously short-lived, Peter and Madison went full William Henry Harrison when they decided to get back together on the season finale. Two days after they agreed to begin dating, they agreed to stop dating. It seemed like the appropriate decision, considering Peter's incandescent mom would never have approved,” according to Screen Rant. Peter moved on to Kelley Flanagan after that, but they broke up in December 2020.

Fans didn’t think Cassie and Colton were going to have a happily ever after and they were right. They decided to be in a relationship without getting engaged in the season 23 finale of The Bachelor in November 2018. It lasted less than two years. “When Colton and Cassie Randolph announced their split in May, the decision to part ways seemed amicable. Cassie appeared on an episode of The Bachelor recapping some of the greatest seasons of all time and was grilled by Chris Harrison about the breakup,” according to Screen Rant. Their relationship turned out to be toxic and Cassie had to get a restraining order against Colton since he was harassing her.

6 Becca And Garrett

Becca and Garrett were engaged for more than two years, but broke up before they ever got married. According to Screen Rant, “Becca Kufrin chose Garrett Yrigoyen at the final rose ceremony on her season of The Bachelorette, and it came out that Garrett had liked some Instagram posts that put his character into question. Garrett answered those questions this year when he responded to the killing of George Floyd and the nationwide protests that followed with an Instagram post supporting law enforcement.” The posts that Garrett liked were homophobic and had racial slurs in them. He apologized for liking them, but that might have been one of the reasons his and Becca’s relationship didn’t work out.

5 Victoria And Chris

Victoria and Chris weren’t on any of The Bachelor shows together, but they started dating behind-the-scenes. Barely anyone knew they were dating for awhile. According to Screen Rant, “Victoria Fuller, who placed third on Peter's season earlier this year, confirmed in April that she was dating Chris Soules, the former Bachelor who first appeared on Andi Dorfman's Bachelorette season. By September, Victoria stated on the Viall Files Podcast that she wasn't ready for life on Chris' Iowa farm.”

It seems like Arie rushed into his decision on season 22’s finale of The Bachelor. He proposed to Becca during the show, but then realized he was meant to be with Lauren after all. According to People, “Shortly after popping the question to Kufrin, Luyendyk Jr. began having doubts, and ultimately made the decision to end things with his newly minted fiancée—on camera. As for his reasoning, Luyendyk Jr. admitted he wanted to give a relationship with runner-up, Lauren Burnham, a chance.” Aerie and Lauren got married in January 2019 and had a baby girl named Alessi in May 2019. They announced a few months ago that they’re now expecting twins. It wasn’t right he broke Becca’s heart on camera, but it seems like he really is meant to be with Lauren.
