A Netflix original, controversial comedian Eric Andre's new film Bad Trip has been trending on Twitter since its release. Fans are not holding back and have continued to show enthusiastic support for this comedic outing.

With plenty of fan reviews, the hashtag #BadTripTheMovie began trending on Twitter soon after the film's release. Bad Trip, a prank comedy movie by genre, was released on the 28th of February, and since then, it has been slowly finding support amongst people fond of this niche of comedy.

Starring Eric Andre, Lil Rey Howery and Tiffany Haddish, it showcases an array of hidden camera pranks played upon people.

The movie has two parts. First, where it shows a comedic camaraderie between Chris (Andre) and his best friend Bud (Howery), as they drive across the country so that Chris can reunite with his high-school crush, Maria (Michaela Colin).

In the second part, a series of pranks are played on unsuspecting people with the help of hidden cameras. The bizarre pranks begin once Andre is left naked on a street after a car wash vacuum cleaner sucks all of his clothes away.

This is followed by plenty of gross pranks, like Andre pretending to get his hand shredded in the blender, or Haddish hanging Andre from a building as seemingly disturbed onlookers beg her not to. At some point, Andre and Howery seem to be going on a mock drug trip in a crowded supermarket.

If the comedic genre of The Eric Andre Show or Jackass movies is your cup of tea, then Bad Trip is a must-watch for you. Not in the afternoon on a laptop - this is a movie to be watched with your friends, over pizzas, with a cold one in hand.

Viewers should also be warned that all the bystanders and their genuine response to pranks at times can become depressing. The bystanders come to aid and their concern, it seems, is exploited for views, which has upset some audience members. On the flip side, however, there is also an impromptu song-and-dance number in a mall, which is refreshingly non-exploitative.

Regardless, most scenarios cooked for the movie are genuinely funny, and remarkable if you factor in that those were real people and real reactions. Kitao Sakurai, who has also worked with Andre on his show, deserves praise and appreciation for pulling off the mad, laugh-riot.
