BC Jean was born Brittany Jean Carlson on April 22, 1987, in San Diego, CA. Her mother Lori Carlson is a talent manager, and her father is a stockbroker who played trumpet and piano. After high school, BC Jean was signed to J Records, which helped her put out her debut album. BC Jean worked on the album with Dallas Austin, The Matrix, Max Martin and others. In September 2010, she released her debut single, "Just A Guy." However, due to the disbandment of J Records and all the artists signed to them moving to RCA Records, her album never got released. 6 BC Jean's Time On Web Series 'Talent'

While trying to pick her music career up off the ground, BC Jean found another project to work on. Around 2011, she starred in the web series called Talent. It was produced by Alloy TV and aired on YouTube. BC Jean played Harper, a musician who is in search of fame, so she moves to Los Angeles. The web series aired two seasons. She recorded two songs for the series called "Anyone" and "Stand Up."

5 'If I Were A Boy' Fame

"If I Were A Boy" is a song recorded by Beyoncé for her third studio album, I Am... Sasha Fierce. It was released in 2009 and became a single. The song received critical and commercial success. However, it wasn't all Beyoncé's doing. BC Jean actually wrote that song early on in her career with Toby Gad, but once her record company rejected it, Beyoncé picked it up. 4 BC Jean Meets Her Future Husband

Bc Jean met Mark Ballas, who would later become her husband. Ballas was a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars and is a musician himself. They met in 2012 when a mutual friend hosted an online concert, in which people could buy tickets to. Both of the musicians were on the lineup for that night. Ballas recounted in an interview with InStyle that "the place was so packed, I couldn't see her, I could only hear her." He was in disbelief when the crowd cleared, and he saw her because she sounded like "someone in their forties slugging whiskey."

BC Jean and Mark Ballas dated for three years before he popped the question in November 2015. They married exactly one year later in Malibu, CA, in a Bohemian style wedding. They both had family and friends in their bridal party, and Derek Hough served as Ballas' best man. Hough is his best friend and also former Dancing With The Stars pro. BC Jean and Mark Ballas' dog, Hendrix served as the ring bearer.

When you have two people who love making music and love working together, of course they are going to form a band. Alexander Jean, which is made up of BC Jean and Mark's middle names, was formed in 2015. They released their debut single, "Roses and Violets" that same year, which reached the top 20 on Billboard's Hot 100 "Bubbling Under" Chart.
