After joining OnlyFans, Bella Thorne made 2 million within a week.

Even though the actress has a net worth of $12 million, she decided to join the platform. It's no secret that Bella has done things her way, including her career.

OnlyFans is a content-sharing platform that has become increasingly popular for people that want to see explicit content from their favorite celebrities and influencers. While the platform is a premium site for creators to share any of their content like writing, photography, or videos, many use it to share intimate and racy photos and videos for fans. Not every mother would approve of this kind of lifestyle.

Tim Stokely founded OnlyFans in 2016. The site has about 450.000 content creators and around 30 million users. Creators set their subscription fees and receive 80% of the profits. They also receive tips from fans.

Bella Thorne, who launched her account in 2020, set a record for the most money earned in the first 24 hours on the site. According to Page Six, the actress made over 1 million dollars on her first day on OnlyFans while managing to crash the entire site briefly.

The source also reported that Bella has been "Getting to know her fans better and on a personal level."

The L.A. Times reported that Bella made over 2 million on August 25 of 2020, by charging a fee of $20 a month. At that time, she wasn't exactly sure what type of content she wanted to share.

The former Disney star started sharing photos somewhat suggestive. Bella has shown some skin before. However, it was due in part to a hacker threatening to release nudes of her.

In an emotional Twitter post, Bella gave a big middle finger to the online hacker and showed her birthday suit to the world before the hacker could. The actress did poll her subscribers on OnlyFans to see what kind of content they would like. According to The L.A. Times, some of the answers included twerking, lingerie, booty, showering, and tongue teasing.

Accused of Scamming Subscribers

Fans are furious after claiming Bella has scammed users into thinking they were paying large amounts for fully nude photos.

Many other celebrities and influencers have jumped on the OnlyFans bandwagon, including Cardi B, Tana Mongeau, and Blac Chyna, to name a few. Cardi recently explained to fans that she would not be sharing any nude content under any circumstances, and Bella followed suit by tweeting to fans that she would not be doing nudity on the site either.

However, she seemingly appeared to have quickly changed her mind as many were surprised to find that Bella had reportedly been charging under $200 pay-per-view messages in exchange for fully nude photosets.

Except, what fans received wasn't at all what the actress had promised. The anger and frustration were felt on social media when users shared screenshots of Bella's promise that the locked photos were, in fact, completely naked.

Aside from the fact that Bella scammed users, many are infuriated because she also made it much more difficult for content creators who use this site as their main form of income to collect their pay.

This is already a tough blow for sex workers as they also have to put in many behind-the-scenes hours while serving as their own photographers, marketers, social media managers, accountants, and technical support workers as explained in a recent Rolling Stone article.

The same user who posted the screenshot wrote on Twitter, "It infuriates me how Bella Thorne has a net worth of $12 million and decided to make an OnlyFans for fun, scam her subscribers, and reduce + delay pay for people who need their OnlyFans as a source of income."

Bella has been known to preach about feminism and openly speak about sex, to which many others are claiming that she can no longer preach about feminism when she messed with so many females' paychecks.

Bella Thorne Apologizes After OnlyFans Backlash

Bella took to Twitter to address the drama and says she want to remove the stigma behind the word "sex," writing, "PT1 Remove the stigma behind sex, sex work, and the negativity that surrounds the word SEX itself by bringing a mainstream face to it that's what I was trying to do, to help bring more faces to the site to create more revenue for content creators on the site."

She continued, "I wanted to bring attention to the site, the more people on the site, the more likely of a chance to normalize the stigmas, and in trying to do this, I hurt you. I have risked my career a few times to remove the stigma behind sex work, porn, and the natural hatred people spew..."

Bella wrote in her apology, "I am a mainstream face, and when you have a voice, a platform, you try to use you in helping others and advocate for something bigger than yourself. Again in this process, I hurt you, and for that, I'm truly sorry."

Despite her apology to resolve this conflict moving forward, fans still aren't pleased with her new career path.
