This Benedict Cumberbatch Chocolate Bunny Is Both Amazing And Terrifying

Chocolate bunnies with the face of Benedict Cumberbatch are now a thing and honestly, we're not entirely sure how we feel about that.

Easter weekend is almost upon us and we can already taste the chocolate. Yes, we know Easter has a deeper rooted religious meaning, but it is also very much about eating as many chocolate eggs as your body will physically let you consume. The eggs have basically been on the shelves since the day after Christmas and since it's a late Easter this year, we have been being teased by their presence for far too long.

The Easter offerings seem to get weirder and more wonderful with every passing year. Our local supermarket currently has an entire aisle dedicated to Easter eggs and we have never seen anything quite like it. Plus, Easter is no longer a holiday during which those who dislike sweet treats have to shy away as you can now buy eggs made from cheese.

Back to chocolate, and here is perhaps the most weird and wonderful offering of them all. A Benedict Cumberbatch chocolate bunny. Not a chocolate bunny in a Cumberbatch-themed box. Not a chocolate Dr. Strange. An actual chocolate bunny with the face of the famous English actor. Why you ask? Well, here's why courtesy of Mental Floss.

It all started in 2015. Jen Lindsay Clark and Tim Simpson of Chocolatcian made a life-sized chocolate Cumberbatch using 500 bars of chocolate. Their creation garnered so much attention that the pair decided to make the actor into bunnies the following year and have done ever since. You can get them in milk, dark, or white chocolate and we're sure they are as delicious as they look.

What's more, as you might have already guessed, since this is a two-person operation, each Cumberbunny is handmade. On the bright side, that means each one is unique. The downside is that makes them pretty expensive. They are currently on sale for $52 per bunny, however, if you're planning on having the bunny sent from the UK to the US, it's going to cost you an extra $23.50 in shipping costs.
