There's no denying that the '90s were an excellent time for movies. Whether we're big fans of all the classic '90s rom-coms, or we prefer the decade's masterpieces like Goodfellas and The Matrix, there really is a '90s movie out there for everyone. That being said, with all of the highly rated films that were released within those years, there were also quite a few that just couldn't rank very high next to the likes of Jurassic Park and Titanic.

Today, instead of focusing on the very best of the '90s, we're going to be looking the very best of the worst. These 15 movies are total cheeseballs, but we still love them anyway. They may not have pleased the critics, but we're sure most people out there have fond memories of watching these guilty pleasures.

15 Meet The Flintstones!

The Flintstonesmoriareviews.co movie from 1994

1994's live-action movie, The Flintstones, definitely did not do as well as it could have. The beloved animated family already has a large fanbase, so we do think giving this movie a shot was a solid idea. While Rotten Tomatoes has given it a 22%, we still think its a super fun watch. The best part is obviously John Goodman as Fred.

14 Everyone's Second Favorite '90s Genie

If you were a kid during the '90s, you enjoyed Kazaam. The tale of a rapping genie being set free from a magical boombox was a disaster for sure, but that doesn't matter when you're a kid. Shaquille O'Neal has stated that he took the role for the money and because he thought doing a movie would be fun. We can't blame him, we had fun watching!

13 Snow Dad Is Better Than No Dad!

If you didn't cry during 1998's Jack Frost, there is something seriously wrong. Yes, this movie is about a father who is brought back to life as a snowman. Is it cheesy? Absolutely. However, it's still a must-watch every holiday season. The waterworks start as soon as Fleetwood Mac's Landslide begins.

12 Maybe Not Our Favorite Martian, But A Close Second

1999's My Favorite Martian may just be one of the lowest rated films on this list. It's got a measly 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, but we've still got love for it. Jeff Daniels and Christopher Lloyd are the perfect '90s duo for this story about an alien who crashes with a human man while he repairs his spaceship.

11 No, They Were Fully Baked

When Half Baked was first released in 1998, it definitely did not impress. However, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't watched it at this point. Thanks to Dave Chappelle's fame, this movie now has quite the cult following. Honestly, we think Thurgood's adventure is even better than Harold and Kumar's.

10 How Come The Avengers Haven't Called Up The Mystery Men For Help?

1999's Mystery Men is one we will always have a place for in our hearts. With so many super serious superhero movies being released these days, it's refreshing to go back and remember that these oddballs also managed to save the day, regardless of their lack of intelligence and good looks.

9 If It's Got Robin Williams, It's Good

We honestly feel like 1991's Hook is unfairly rated. It's a Spielberg film after all and it stars Robin Williams. It's a fun take on the original tale, with Peter Pan being a father and having to return to Neverland to save his stolen kids. There's been mention of another live-action Peter Pan being in the works and if the rumors about Reese Witherspoon playing Tink are true, we're here for it.

8 These Are Not The Same As Andy's Lovable Toys

1998's Small Soldiers is an excellent film. Sure, it's got all the '90s cheese needed to make it onto this list, but it's actually just a great adventure for kids and for adults. Now, these toys may not be as friendly as Woody and Buzz, but that's because they've got an important mission.

Ask any critic what their pick for worst '90s movie is and they'll likely say Baby Geniuses. They wouldn't be wrong either, the movie is technically terrible. However, like other films on this list, if you remember liking it as a kid, your opinion of it may not be so low.

6 It Doesn't Get Any Better Than The Sandlot

If anyone out there thinks that The Sandlot is a film only for baseball fans, you couldn't be anymore wrong. The Sandlot may only have a 61% on Rotten Tomatoes, but the movie is a true classic. It's insanely quotable, totally heartwarming, and it's got one of the best soundtracks ever. For pure childhood cheese-ball fun, check this out on Disney+.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels absolutely killed it in Dumb and Dumber. While today many do in fact view it as a classic, it's not actually as highly rated as some might think. It's got a 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, which certainly isn't as low as others on this list, but we think it does deserves higher. For a comedy that could only have worked in the '90s, watch Dumb and Dumber today.

4 Arnold Schwarzenegger VS Sinbad

If Jingle All the Way isn't on your must-watch holiday movie list, it may be time to revise things. Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the all-American dad is honestly as hilarious as it sounds. Arnold and Sinbad go to war over a toy both of their kids want and believe us, strange casting choices aside, you're going to want to see how this one ends.

3 Spice Up Your Life A Little

When it comes to singers acting in movies, we've all seen just how bad things can get. 1997's Spice World is about as terrible as you'd imagine, but it's also got a heavy nostalgia factor. It brings us back to a simpler time, you know, like when the Spice Girls were still intact. The cheese is real in this one, but the spice balances things out nicely.

2 Blast From The Past Is Not Alicia Silverstone's Best, But We'll Take It

We all love Alicia Silverstone in the '90s classic Clueless, but many seem to forget that she also starred alongside Brendan Fraser in this gem. Blast From the Past is as cheesy as cheesy rom-coms get, but we think that's kind of the point. When Adam leaves the bunker he and his parents have been living in for 35 years, he encounters the beautiful Eve. Yes, their names are Adam and Eve...

1 Why Do We Like This Movie So Much?

Ace Ventura Pet Detective making funny face

While at this point in time we know that Jim Carrey is a phenomenal actor in both comedies and more serious films, 1994's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective does help us to remember who he was as an actor back then. The movie is literally about a wacky detective who locates missing animals, but still, it's a Jim Carrey classic.
