Beyoncé Was Not A Fan Of The Austin Powers Promotional Poster

Austin Powers in Goldmember is arguably considered the top of the franchise. At the box office, the film was a hit, bringing in close to $300 million.

Playing the role of Foxxy Cleopatra, Beyoncé thrived in the role, and she had a blast on-set. However, there were some hiccups, including her thoughts about the promotional poster. According to makeup artist Kate Briscoe alongside Vulture, Beyoncé had doubts looking at the poster, given that it made her look too skinny.

Briscoe said, “When we were shooting, someone brought her a poster that would be promoting the movie. He showed it to her, like, ‘Do you like it?’ And she was kind of like, ‘Yeah.’ He goes, ‘What’s the matter?’ And she says, ‘You made me too skinny. It’s not me.'”

Although it was expensive to edit, the film made sure to make the proper adjustments.

Briscoe continued, “Then she did this hourglass shape. And he said, ‘Okay, we’ll fix that.’ She walked away to go do the scene, and I looked at him and smiled, like, ‘Is that the first time that you’ve ever had an actress ask to make her body bigger?’ He was like, ‘Yes. It’s going to cost me thousands of dollars, but I am going to do it.'”

Beyoncé Was On 1,200 Calories For Austin Powers

Beyoncé's prep for the film was labeled as tough, both physically in the gym, and in terms of calories. Beyoncé had just over 1,000 calories to play with per day, and we assume most of the calories did not include carbs, making it that much more of a tough battle.

Beyoncé also made mention that getting into her wardrobe was a nightmare on a regular basis, given how tight the clothing was, as the film used spandex material.

Nonetheless, Beyoncé was able to look passed all of that. Speaking alongside Tribute, she spoke fondly about her character in the film.

"She's perfect, the character was perfect. It was a dream come true. She was funny, she was tough, she was smart and focused but still sweet and she and Austin had a great chemistry and great relationship."

Once Beyoncé auditioned for the role, she binge-watched the previous Austin Powers. Clearly, she did her homework and thrived in the role.

Beyoncé Had A Blast Working With Mike Myers In Austin Powers In Goldmember

As expected, Beyoncé had a blast working alongside Mike Myers in the film. She did admit to being a little nervous at the start, however, that would all change along the way.

"He was incredible, she said. "In the beginning, I was very nervous and I'm kind of shy and he is kind of shy. So it was weird, but we warmed up and I love him. I don't know what I would have done without him. I am just so happy that I got to meet him, let alone work with him. He's a genius."

However, Beyonce did reveal that shooting scenes along Myers' Fat Bas**** character was not easy.

"He is so gross. Oh God! It was unbelievable in person. I mean you see it on the screen and it looks crazy, but in person, there is all this sweat and his facial expressions and everything, it was gross," she told Tribute.

It was quite the project for the pop icon and one fans will always remember looking back at her Hollywood career.
