Earlier this week, fans of the 90’s girl group Destiny’s Child changed their header image on their Facebook and Twitter accounts, which led many to believe that the group was planning an epic comeback and that new music was on the way.

Shortly after, the girl group’s name started to trend on Twitter, with many fans hoping that new music was going to be released or perhaps a reunion tour. While the reunion of Destiny’s Child would be nothing short of iconic, the possibility disappeared almost as soon as there was hope.

Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, recently told TMZ that there are “zero plans” for the girl group to reunite for a potential album or tour. He said the social media update was simply a “routine revamping by the record label.”

While the group hasn’t denied or confirmed anything yet, fans have not lost hope. Beyoncé recently hinted in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that new music is coming, but she did specify if it was a solo project or with her former groupmates.

Regardless, Destiny’s Child is still trending on Twitter. Fans on the platform have been showing their love for the group and highlighting their impact on the music industry.

Destiny’s Child was an R&B trio that consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. The group catapulted into the mainstream following the release of their song "No, No, No" and their best-selling second album, The Writing's on the Wall (1999). The album contained chart-topping singles "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name.”

The group’s success has spanned decades, with many of their hits still being referenced to this day. Even though Destiny’s Child officially disbanded in 2006, they’ve still managed to stay in touch, and have reunited for musical performances since then.

In February, Beyoncé and Michelle visited Kelly and her newborn son Noah. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the singer recalled the excitement she felt toward her long-time best friends coming to meet the new addition to her family.

"When they met the baby it was like another part of my heart just.... Being able to share space with Michelle and Bey is truly a gift," Kelly told the outlet.

"It's really a gift because we've known each other for so long and the industry doesn't really make friendships... It's the nature of it, and we still have each other after all these years," she added. "And I'm just so grateful for them and they are a highlight of my life. Not professionally, but our friendship and sisterhood."
