These days, however, the young artist is taking her modest fashion choices to a whole new level. In her most recent social media post, Billie shared a photo of herself wearing so many layers that we can’t even discern her face.
A Star That Hides From The Camera
Since her lightening speed rise to fame, Billie has earned a reputation for wearing clothes that reveal little detail about her body. However, the singer never ‘covered up’ with the intention of becoming a style icon. On the contrary, she has opted for bulky outfits due to her body image issues.
Despite her popularity, Billie has confessed her own lack of self-acceptance when it comes to the way she looks. “I still have huge issues with my own body,” the musician divulged in an interview with GQ, “I have never felt desired. My past boyfriends never made me feel desired. None of them. And it’s a big thing in my life that I have never felt physically desired by somebody. So I dress the way I dress.”
On Wednesday, Billie shared a photo in which she took those dressing habits to a whole new level. The singer opted for a puffy jacket that not only disguised her whole upper body; it also blocked our view of her face. She also wore a pair of scrunched khaki pants that completely covered her legs. Even her funky green locks were hidden beneath a bucket hat.
In the caption of the photo, Billie simply left a smiley face.
It may be true that the singer has continuously ‘covered up’ due to her battle with body image issues. However, that doesn’t seem to stop her from sharing her happiness with the world, even if that comes from beneath many layers of heavy clothing.
