In a brand new video titled Marvel Studios Celebrates The Movies, the new Black Panther sequel was officially announced.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set for release on July 8, 2022.

Fans also got a glimpse at Captain Marvel 2, now known as The Marvels, which is set for a release date set for a November 11, 2022. Actor Michael B. Jordan, who played Killmonger in Black Panther, recently discussed whether he could make a return to the franchise.

Appearing on Jess Cagle's SiriusXM show earlier this month, Jordan was asked what the likelihood of him returning was on a scale of one (never) to 10 (certain).

"I'm gonna have to go with a solid 2," he said, before teasing: "I didn't want to go zero! Never say never. I can't predict the future."

The Creed star added that he "didn't know much at all" about what direction the story was going to take, except that Marvel was working on the script and it will reflect "a lot of circumstances and tragedy that we had to deal with this past year."

But some fans felt they couldn't enjoy the movie without the late Chadwick Boseman in the lead role.

"Not gonna be the same without him CHADWICK FOREVER," one fan wrote online.

"Won’t be the same without the original Black Panther," a second added.

"I'm just not emotionally ready to watch this without chadwick," a third chimed in.

The new Black Panther movie comes after fans  expressed their disappointment after acting legend Anthony Hopkins beat the late star to Oscar glory. Hopkins, 83, won the coveted gong for his role in The Father, becoming the oldest person ever to win an acting Oscar.

This marks the British icon's second Academy Award. He first won 29 years ago for his role as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of The Lambs.

Boseman - who died of colon cancer aged just 43 last August - was widely tipped to win a posthumous award for his role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

The Academy Awards usually ends with the Best Picture award being announced.

But this year it was decided that Best Actor would be the last award of the night. It was rumored that Boseman would be announced as the winner, and the awards show would end with a tribute to his life's work.

When that did not happen, Hopkin's win caused mass hysteria on social media. Dozens claimed the decision was "the worst TV ending since Game of Thrones."

Sir Anthony Hopkins did not attend the awards ceremony - which was held in Los Angeles' Union Station.

"They build the entire show around a Chadwick Boseman ending and then Anthony Hopkins won and didn't show up," one fan tweeted.
