The rapper of the popular South Korean all-female band has been selected as the new ambassador for YSL Beauty. The French luxury fashion house has had various testimonials throughout the years, including Zoë Kravitz and Cara Delevingne.

Blackpink Member Rosé Becomes New YSL Beauty Muse

Rosé was announced today (January 4) as the Vogue Korea Instagram account revealed a first look at campaign imagery. In the photos, Rosé is holding an upcoming YSL Beauty marble compact. The Instagram caption also notes that additional images from the shoot will be revealed on January 7.

This confirms the news hinted at in a previous Instagram post by Vogue Korea. In a clip captioned “Guess Who,” Rosé emerges from a black, smoky room. Prior to securing this role with YSL Beauty, the singer also appeared in images for Yves Saint Laurent’s autumn/winter 2020 campaign, as Vogue UK reported.

Blackpink fans have reacted to the images released by YSL on Vogue Korea in the best possible way.

Fans are also loving Rosé’s low-key approach to the news. The New Zealander hasn’t officially commented on becoming a muse for YSL Beauty. She has instead posted a clip as she attempts to wink.

“How do you not make the other eye move…” Rosé wrote in her stories.

Lisa In Documentary 'Blackpink: Light Up The Sky'

Earlier this year, Blackpink released a documentary on Netflix called Blackpink: Light Up The Sky.

The documentary chronicles Lisa, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo’s rise to international fame and features exclusive interviews and footage from their gigs, including their appearance at last year’s Coachella. Blackpink was, in fact, the first female K-pop band to play the prestigious stage.

Before ascending to the realm of K-pop idols, the four Blackpink members were teenagers who met during training with YG Entertainment in 2016. At the time, the company was looking to launch their second all-female K-pop sensation after 2NE1.

One of the deleted scenes shows Rosé and Lisa looking back at their friendship. In the clip, they revealed they started out as frenemies. Lisa admitted she felt a little intimidated by Rosé at first. One of the reasons was that Rosé usurped Lisa’s title of the youngest band member.
