Unfortunately, that wound up not being the case for two main reasons. First off, Reynolds and Lively wound up apologizing that their wedding venue after they learned that it had a shameful past. Second, something else happened that day that could ruin any wedding.

When Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively decided to get married, they went to great lengths to try and ensure their privacy on their happy day. After the fact, however, it turns out that secrecy no longer was a priority as evidenced by the fact that Lively spoke about her wedding during a 2014 Vogue interview.

When Blake Lively started talking about her wedding day, she initially painted an idyllic picture of the day. After all, Lively revealed that she got to enjoy Florence Welch’s beautiful voice when she performed at the wedding as Blake and her guests held sparklers. Unfortunately, that is when things went awry.

"Florence Welch was singing at the reception, and they brought out these sparklers, and I’m watching her sing. I look down and my wedding dress has a big burn mark from one of the sparklers. Right on the front! And it was just so heartbreaking to me."

After revealing her wedding dress catastrophe, Blake Lively went on to talk about how her special bond with her husband helped her to feel a lot better about the situation. "Later, my dress was hanging up and Ryan said, 'Isn't that beautiful?' I said, 'What?' And he pointed to the burn. My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject. And he said, 'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.' Now that's my favorite part of the dress."

While Blake Lively’s story about her wedding dress being burned ends on a beautifulk note, the situation easily could have been a complete catastrophe. After all, wedding dresses tend to be made of flammable materials and if the spark that burned Lively’s dress spread, she could have been in mortal danger.
