According to Cosmopolitan, Kane Lim made cash via "smart investments" and he has a net worth of $20 million.

PopBuzz reported that 30-year-old Kane started putting money into stock investments at the young age of 17. That is the age when he was already a millionaire as a result.

How did this reality star's family get so rich?

Kane's family money is from the industries of shipping, oil, and real estate.

Yahoo! News reported that people say that Kane's dad is a billionaire but he has explained that isn't the case. He said, “He’s not that rich! Unless there’s something he’s not telling me!” The publication also noted that Kane maintains his family's privacy. He explained, “I do it on purpose because I don’t want to depend on them. And that’s the premise of the show – to craft your own empire.”

Kane's Story

Kane has an interesting story because while he did grow up in a wealthy family, he has also gone out on his own and made his own cash.

Kane shared more about investing money at 17: in an interview with Voyage LA, he said, "[I] started investing at the age of 17. Took a small loan from my father and paid him back in two months and by the age of 18-19, I made a sum of more of around seven figures. Invested in fashion and with the money I used it to invest in stocks."

Kane also explained more about the move that he made from Singapore to L.A. He told Voyage LA in 2019, "I moved to Los Angeles seven years ago for school and decided to live here as I see many opportunities to bridge the East and West. My core focus right now is to grow the investment arm for my family. Back in Thailand, we have commercial real estate ranging from shopping malls to office buildings. In Los Angeles, I’m the process of doing some residential deals and commercial ones in the future."

Cinemaholic.com described Kane as a "socialite, philanthropist, and self-made millionaire" and mentioned that he makes money from modeling. He also has quite the Instagram following: he's got 246,000 followers as of right now and he shares photos of his fabulous life. He loves fashion and also appears to be totally stylish.

Kane shared with Today Online that although his family could have afforded more private modes of transportation, he took the bus to school when he was a kid. He said, "I was like, ‘Dad, we have money!’ But at the same time, I appreciate that he did it ‘cos it made me decide that I wanted to do something for myself."

How does Kane Lim's family feel about his successful Netflix reality series?

According to Today Online, they didn't say anything about it. Kane said that his family has a group chat using WhatsApp and when he said that the show made Netflix's top 10 list of content in Singapore on January 21, 2021, no one said replied.

Kane said, "I could tell that everyone read my messages, but there was no comment, so I deleted them. I was a bit disappointed, but I’m used to it." He continued, "The funny thing is they told me that their friends are proud of me, but I’m like, ‘I don’t care what they think, I want to know what you think!’”

His family did respond later: they texted, "Oh, what an achievement.”
