Country singer Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley are opening a free grocery store to help those in need in Nashville.
The famous couple is giving back to the community they have called home for years. They have joined forces with Belmont University, which is Brad's alma mater, to bring a unique food bank to Nashville. As part of the new partnership agreement, the new grocery store is planned to sit next to Belmont University's Ministry Center.
Brad will serve on the board of trustees of "The Store", the official name of the food pantry. The reason it stands out from other food banks is that it will be set up like a supermarket. It is a new modern version of a food pantry that the couple hopes can help out those who need it most in their hometown.

Some of you may have heard about the new charity we are launching in Nashville, called “The Store” @thestore_nashville. It’s in partnership with @belmontu, my college, and it’s in its early stages but I’m very excited about this concept. More to follow on how you can be a part of it going forward.
Along with Belmont University, many other non-profit organizations have partnered with The Paisley's to make sure that The Store is a success. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one organization that has committed to providing nonperishable, as well as fresh grocery items to both families and individuals.
There is a catch to The Store. You can't simply go there and get items. Customers must be referred by either a government agency or a non-profit agency. However, once patrons are approved, they will have access to the food pantry for one year. The goal of all parties involved is to help over 3,000 people in need during the first year.
Brad and Kimberly Paisley were inspired to start The Store after taking their two sons to a similar place in Santa Barbara last Thanksgiving. According to the Tennessean, Kimberly initiated the visit after her sons were acting like spoiled brats. She wanted them to understand how fortunate they are, so the Paisley's took their boys to volunteer at Unity Shoppe. However, it ended up being a learning experience for the entire family, as they realized there should be a place like Unity Shoppe in every city.
The country crooner and his actress wife are currently raising funds for The Store, which they want to open in early 2019. Both Brad and Kimberly have been promoting the project on their social media accounts.
