Hollywood is always looking for the next big thing, and the performers that slide into that role wind up setting themselves up for life. During the 90s, Brad Pitt became one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, and instead of things tapering off, Pitt made the most of his time in the limelight and became a legend.

The man has been a star for years now, and with loads of hit films, he will be talked about long after he's gone. Earlier on, however, Pitt was doing anything to make it, including something that nearly wrecked his career.

Let's take a look at how Brad Pitt almost blew it.

Brad Pitt Is A Major Star

At this stage in his illustrious career, Brad Pitt is a star who was had unfathomable amounts of success and who has made millions of dollars along the way. Pitt has starred in hit films since the 90s, and once the actor got a taste of mainstream success, he would march forward and never look back.

Thelma & Louise put him on the map, and from that moments on, Pitt would start stacking up an impressive list of credits. Through the years, he starred in movies like Interview with the Vampire, Fight Club, Troy, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, 12 Years a Slave, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Pitt has been delivering great performances for years, and after winning his first Oscar for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the actor has seen and done just about everything a star could hope for.

Earlier on in his career, however, Pitt was taking on much smaller roles.

He Had Humble Beginnings

Instead of being a performer who was able to become a breakout star after just one project, Brad Pitt had to take his time to become a prominent figure in the movie business. Earlier on in his career, Pitt was taking uncredited roles just to get himself noticed, and it would eventually pay off as he started to get experience.

Back in 1987, Pitt, who had yet to have his breakout role in Thelma & Louise, was able to land a number of uncredited roles. That year, Pitt would appear in movies like Hunk, No Way Out, No Man's Land, and Less Than Zero. Things would improve from that point on, as filmmakers started to see what the young Pitt could bring to the table.

Not only was he landing roles on the big screen, but early on, Pitt was doing television work, as well. During his 1987 campaign, Brad Pitt appeared on Another World, Growing Pains, Dallas, and more. He would continue to do television acting until becoming a star, when his appearances became few and far between.

During this time in his career, Pitt was trying to make a name for himself and stand out while being an extra. This wound up getting him into some trouble on the set of a movie long before he became a star.

He Got Into Hot Water On Set

So, how did Brad Pitt land himself in some hot water while trying to stand out as a young actor?

As Pitt told Collider, "I was just so excited to be there. I did extra work for about a year and a half, maybe two years. There was this catch-22. To get your SAG card, you had to have a line, but to have a line you had to have your SAG card. So, there was this Charlie Sheen/DB Sweeney movie, and I was an extra. It was a big dinner scene, and they pulled me out to be the waiter."

"I was supposed to pour champagne and I thought, 'I’m gonna try it!' And so, I poured Charlie’s glass. They were having a big conversation. I poured the next actor’s glass. And then, there was a young woman on the end and I poured her glass, and then I went, 'Would you like anything else?' I heard the 1st AD yell, 'Cut! Cut!' He came over to me and said, 'If you do that again, you’re outta here!' So, I didn’t get it," he continued.
