Then came Zahara, their eldest daughter, 17 years old and was adopted in 2005.

She was also able to successfully rule out the previous judge's decision of their custody case by having him replaced by a new one, which voided Brad Pitt's earlier rights to their kids. 4 Brad Pitt Has Joint Custody Of His Kids
Brad Pitt is at the losing end of the custody case, but he is nowhere near giving up. Brad Pitt is now pleading his case to the California Supreme Court to get better and relatively more equal rights for the Jolie-Pitt children, and it has paid off because the high court is now considering his case. If the Supreme Court denies his request, he will have to settle with seeing his kids on private occasions or at events where Angelina is also involved, which he does not support.
Although the previous judge legally granted him joint custody, Angelina generally has more involvement with their children since she is the mother. The court is currently studying whether the joint custody, which is supposed to be 50/50 for both parents, is fair for both sides.
