In an exclusive preview of the documentary Brad Pitt: True Hollywood Story, the Hollywood star’s ex-girlfriend, E.G. Daily, talks about her first impression of the star and what he was like in his "up and coming" days.

Brad Pitt: True Hollywood Story follows the life of Hollywood icon Brad Pitt from a small-town boy to the sexiest man alive.

It explores the struggles he faced along the way, with different relationships, the limelight, and even substance abuse. The documentary shows how he faced these challenges head-on as the most important character of his life - himself.

The show includes interviews with Pitt's ex-girlfriend, his co-star Michael Rapaport, and other industry insiders, all of whom talk about towards becoming the film legend he is today.

The Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood star started dating E.G. Daily, a fellow American actress now known for her voiceover work on popular children's cartoons like The Powerpuff Girls, after his separation from Jill Schoelen, to whom he had been engaged for eight months.

The actor was devastated at the time, after he visiting Schoelen on a set in Hungary only for her to tell him that she had fallen in love with the director of the film and was calling off their engagement.

However, as per True Hollywood Story, he "bounced back" and started dating Daily shortly after.

In the preview for this week's episode, Daily recalls her first impression of Pitt as “a very deep-souled guy” and “very up and coming.”

“I think he was really intense about his work,” the actress explained. “When you saw him, it was more like seething in him underneath. What I could feel from him was a really strong, visceral drive towards something really big.”

Pitt and Daily continued to be good friends, even after they ended their romantic relationship in 1988.

At the time, Pitt was trying to find a breakthrough, but was only able to grab a few light-hearted gigs.

The casting director for the TV movie Too Young To Die?, Susan Glicksman, appeared in the exclusive preview and shared her memory of Brad auditioning for the role.

“Brad came in and he was, you know, very cute and boyish and sort of baby-faced,” said Susan. “I thought, 'he’s not gonna be right,' but his reading was unbelievable, he got into the character and there was no one else that read anywhere near as well as he did.”

The episode airs at 10 p.m. EST on April 18 on E!.
