Brendan Fraser is a terrific actor and fans were reminded of that in his comeback during, The Whale. In terms of adapting to his roles, Fraser always found this easy, given that he grew up with a similar experience, always as an outsider. He told Cinema, "I seemed to often be the outsider. My family moved every few years, and I was always the new kid, trying to fit in. As the new boy you had to learn how to assert yourself. Like an actor you had to constantly redefine yourself," he says.RELATED - Brendan Fraser Interrupted Rob Lowe's SNL Send-Off After He Realized There Was No Time Left To Promote His FilmCleary, Fraser followed through with those words, as he redefined his career since his days in the Mummy franchise alongside Dwayne Johnson. In the following, we'll take a look at Fraser's time in the film and how he felt about the cast. Brendan Fraser Had A Blast Working Alongside The Mummy Cast

In 1999, it was clear the action/adventure, The Mummy, was something special, generating $416 million at the box office. It was only up from there as the sequel was also a major success as well, making $435 million, once again, thanks to Brendan Fraser and his tremendous gift as Rick O'Connell in the film.

Looking back at his time in the franchise alongside Pop Verse, Fraser has fond memories of working on the film with the cast.

"I really enjoyed getting to be with that whole cast. I loved being part of a movie that we didn't know if it was an action, comedy, horror, adventure, romance. All of the above. We didn't know what we had on our hands, and there was a certain sense of liberty and excitement about it"

Fraser further noted that's exactly what made the film so special, given how many different layers it had.

"I think it had so much appeal because everybody wanted a little bit of all of those things I just mentioned. And by whatever movie magic, it came together for us."

Although the actor had a blast in the role, he isn't all that fond of watching himself back.

Brendan Fraser Can Watch His Fellow Co-Stars, But Not Himself In The Mummy

Fraser has no problems watching the film back, however, he isn't necessarily fond of re-watching himself in particular. Fraser noted that he feels a weird sense of nostalgia watching himself in the role.

"Yeah, I look back on it, and when I watch it, I watch everyone else, I can't look at myself, I feel a sense of nostalgia. I feel a sense of hopefulness for all of us on the cusp of our professional lives and the potential for something lasting and memorable."

He continued, "I can still hear Stephen Sommers writer/director giving direction like 'Ready… and DON'T SUCK! Action!' And then we'd run around and shoot... and camels!"

Despite conflicting feelings about watching himself back in the role, the actor is open to exploring the project once again.

Brendan Fraser Is Open To Working The Mummy 4

Fans weren't exactly thrilled with Tom Cruise's take on The Mummy. Though in truth, Fraser admitted taking on such a genre isn't easy and in fact, quite difficult.

“It is hard to make that movie. The ingredient that we had going for our Mummy, which I didn’t see in that film, was fun. That was what was lacking in that incarnation. It was too much of a straight-ahead horror movie. ‘The Mummy’ should be a thrill ride, but not terrifying and scary," he said.

Much to delight of the fans, Brendan Fraser would further state that he's open to appearing in a fourth film, if needed.

“I don’t know how it would work. But I’d be open to it if someone came up with the right conceit," he said.

It remains to be seen when that will take place and if it'll ever go down. At the moment, coming of his success from The Whale, Fraser has a stacked schedule, recently completing Brothers, while in the post-production phase for both Killers of the Flower Moon and Behind the Curtain of Night.
