The popular regency Netflix series Bridgerton has just finished wrapping season two. Based on a series of novels with the same name, this drama left a major mark on the streaming platform.

After its debut, it broke records, quickly becoming the most-streamed series on Netflix. It has since been beaten by South Korean drama Squid Game. Bridgerton brings forward an all-star production team with Shonda Rhimes as the producer, best known for her work on Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder.

The show is created by Chris Van Dusen, who serves as the showrunner. He has had a long partnership with Rhimes, working with her on the sets of Grey's Anatomy and the aforementioned legal drama, Scandal.

Dusen Shares That Bridgerton Season Two Has Wrapped

Dusen took to Twitter to share his exciting news about the second season of Bridgerton. It has finished filming. He wrote, "That’s a wrap on Season Two! So proud of this cast and crew who brought their A-games to work each and every day in this very challenging year." Sharing a snap of himself posing with two cast members, he added, "And these two in this photo with me right here. Words are not enough. Coming in 2022."

In response, fans have been begging for a release date and praising the new actors expected to make their debut in the series. Bridgerton season two will have fan-favorites returning like Jonathan Bailey, Ruth Gemmell, Pheobe Dynevor, and Nicola Coughlan. However, it won't be seeing the return of heartthrob Rege-Jean Page, whose departure made headlines for weeks after it was announced.

What have other cast members said?

Dusen isn't the only one who has spoken up about the wrap of Bridgerton season two. British actor Charithra Chandran will be joining the cast as a new character, Edwina Sharma. She is expected to play a large role in the new season as the sister of Kate Sharma, Anthony Bridgerton's love interest.

Chandran posted an adorable selfie on her Instagram story, posing with a bouquet of flowers. She wrote, "That's a wrap."
