Fans and followers of the iconic pop star Britney Spears have repeatedly raised alarms about the international superstar’s well-being and mental health, with many controversial theories arising about her current status.

Amid all this confusion and guessing, it appears as though Britney’s greatly disliked business manager Lou Taylor has resigned without giving Britney any prior notice or a statement. Fans had previously accused Taylor of being the mastermind behind Britney’s ongoing conservatorship, a legal status granting Britney’s father Jamie Spears total control over her financial affairs and daily life. Conservatorships are typically granted in cases of mental or physical limitations, and it is unclear why Britney is coerced into one.

Prior to resigning earlier today, Taylor had been Britney’s business manager for over a decade. She is the current CEO of Tri-Star Sports and Entertainment Group, a business management and tax services company that works with celebrities like Mary J. Blige, Reba McEntire, Steven Tyler, and Gwen Stefani to name a few.

But despite being lauded by celebrities, Britney fans don’t appear to feel the same. In fact, tensions between fans and Taylor had grown so severe in the past year that Taylor actually sued a Britney fan in a Georgia court for buying website domains including Taylor’s name. The fan had purchased the websites and reportedly uploaded a wealth of information about Taylor’s involvement in Britney’s plight. The case was eventually settled out of court.

Just last month, fans sounded the alarms once again, this time critically concerned about Britney’s safety and going so far as to suggest that she is being sexually exploited after a very suggestive and seemingly uncomfortable photo of her was posted on her Instagram account. The photo in question showed a visibly unsettled Britney posing in a thong and full fishnets. Fans claimed this was not in line with Britney’s regular content, with some going so far as to claim that they see bruises along her abdomen when zooming in.

New court documents regarding Taylor’s resignation reveal that Britney’s father, the very man primarily accused of holding her hostage and stripping her of her rights, tried to hire a man named Michael Kane to replace Taylor, without so much as notifying Britney. Talk about family drama.

At the time of publishing, it appears as though Britney’s Instagram account still follows Lou Taylor’s but then again, we don’t really know who runs that account!
