Britney Spears is currently expecting a baby with her fiancé Sam Asghari, and things seem to be going smoother than her first two pregnancies, one of the singer’s latest posts reveals.

Posting to Instagram, Britney shared how rocky her relationship with her then-husband Kevin Federline was during her pregnancies with their sons. The pair were married from 2004 to 2007 and welcomed two sons in their time together – Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.

In the now-deleted post, the singer explained the major differences between her pregnancies and she took the opportunity to throw shade at her ex. “Geez my ex-husband wouldn’t see me when I flew to New York with a baby inside me and Las Vegas when he was shooting a video!!!” she wrote. Britney admitted it was at that moment she started contemplating divorce.

“I got a text saying ‘If you don’t divorce Kevin he will publicly do it to you.’ Since I hadn’t seen him in a while I already knew it was over,” she continued.

Britney filed for divorce only two months after their youngest son’s birth, and it was granted the following year.

The singer said that, for the most part, she does enjoy pregnancy. “I didn’t want mine to come out ever,” she said in the post. “I liked the baby being safe in my womb and close to my heart.” She explained that she was so protective when her sons were born, she wouldn’t let her own mother hold them.

Britney announced she was pregnant again earlier this month. As Parents reports, the former child star shared on social media she was confused during a trip to Maui when she gained back a bit of weight she’d previously lost.

"I thought, 'Geez ... what happened to my stomach???' My husband said, 'No, you're food pregnant, silly!!!' So I got a pregnancy test ... and uhhhhh well ... I am having a baby,” she wrote, referring to her husband as a fiancé.

Though she said she was excited to be pregnant, Britney added she was also nervous because of her history of perinatal depression. “I have to say it is absolutely horrible. Women didn't talk about it back then,” she continued.

Britney’s infamous conservatorship was terminated last fall after 13 years. During a court hearing, the singer said she longed to get married and have more children but said her conservators were preventing her from doing so. She alleged they wouldn’t even let her remove her IUD.

Sam proposed to Britney shortly after the conservatorship was lifted. It’s unclear when they plan to marry.
