In the month since her 14-year long conservatorship has ended, Britney Spears continues to open up about the harrowing abuse and restrictions she has been living through since the singer was in her 20s. Spears, who celebrated her 40th birthday earlier this month, has been taking to Instagram to reveal what has been going on behind the scenes, revealing terrifying details of her mistreatment during the last decade and a half.

While celebrities including Lady Gaga and fans of the popstar alike have been vocal about celebrating the end of the restrictions on Spears' life, things have been a little quiet on her family's end, although after the blasting she has given them on social media that might not be too surprising. Spears' ex-husband of three years and father to her children Kevin Federline has voiced his support of the conservatorship terminating, how do her sons Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, feel about it?

7 Kevin Federline Is Pleased For His Sons

A month before Spears was released from the confines of the conservatorship, Kevin Federline released a statement through his attorney Vincent Kaplan regarding its ending, saying that he supports the end of the conservatorship as long as he and Spears' kids are "safe." "If Britney wants to see the children, she’s able to see the children," Kaplan said. "Obviously we don’t know whether the conservatorship will be continued, but as long as the boys are properly supervised and safe, and Britney is able to do that without the presence of a conservator, he’s happy." He also acknowledged that the removal of Jamie Spears as her conservator would allow the boys to see their mom at her best. "[They] should be able to benefit from the removal of stress from her life so that they have their mom at her best."

6 Where Do Their Children Live?

After their births in September 2005 and September 2006, Sean Preston and Jayden James were photographed non-stop as the paparazzi hounded Britney Spears in the years leading up to the implementation of the conservatorship. But since then, the two have led a rather sheltered life away from both the glitz and glam of Hollywood and the publicized drama of their mom's life. After Spears' and Federline's divorce in 2007, Federline was granted full custody of the children, which was then set at 50/50 custody upon the creation of the conservatorship. This ruling stayed in place until Federline petitioned the judge to increase his share to 70% in 2019 reducing Spears' time with her children to just 30%.

5 Will This Arrangement Now Change?

With the conservatorship ending in November 2021, the arrangement is not expected to change. According to TMZ, Spears' "sons aren't looking for more or less time with their mother. The current arrangement they have where Britney is able to see the kids when she and they want her to is what's working for the family as of now." A source told People however that Spears is hoping the end of the conservatorship will lead to her seeing her sons more now that Jamie isn't her conservator.

4 Jayden James Spoke About The Conservatorship On Instagram

In March of 2020, Spears's second son Jayden James had his Instagram account shut down after spilling alleged family secrets to his 11,000 followers. Jayden James, then 13-years-old, took to Instagram live where a bunch of his mom's fans joined and posted questions for the superstar's son to answer and shed some light on the #FreeBritney movement. He told his followers he wasn't sure how he feels about the movement but was all for her getting her freedom back. Responding to someone who wrote on his live, "help your mom break free," he replied with "that's what I'm trying to do." He added that his "legendary" mom might quit music and that he didn't get to spend much time with her.

3 The Boys No Longer Have A Relationship With Their Grandfather

In September of the previous year, Jayden and his brother Sean were granted a restraining order against their grandfather, Jamie Spears, after he allegedly abused Sean, behavior Jamie denied. This resulted in Britney Spears losing access to her sons for a period while the investigation was underway. Jayden called his grandfather a "pretty big d***" on the Instagram live and said he was "thinking the same thing" when a follower suggested that his grandfather should be killed. The rant led to his Instagram being made private and all related posts deleted. His father's attorney said, "Kevin was not happy to see that and he is addressing it as you would expect a responsible parent to address it."

2 The Boys Are Seen On Instagram Posts All Grown Up

Sean Preston and Jayden James made a rare appearance on Spears' Instagram in September, with the mom writing in a now deleted post, "My boys' birthdays were last week, and unfortunately they are growing up and want to do their own things...I have to ask their permission to post them because they are extremely independent little men." She continued, "There's a lot I can't share with you all because my kids are very private which I love but I will tell you they are both extremely talented and I'm so incredibly blessed to have these two little men in my life!"

A few weeks later, the two appeared in a post from Eddie Morales, a friend of their father, who praised their talent and made reference to the trying times the family was going through as Spears' was attending court to overturn the conservatorship. "During times of grief knowing u have #family really feels worth living," his caption began. "Talk bout seeing my nephews when they were pods smaller [than] my hands now look at #life," adding about Federline "love you bro...NOW THE WORLD WILL SEE HOW MUCH OF A GREAT #DAD HE HAS BEEN!"

1 Britney's Sons Are Happy For Her To Start A New Family

Britney Spears has made it no secret that she longs to expand her family, a move that is now possible for the superstar since the conservatorship ended. She was previously not allowed to get pregnant, get married, or even remove her IUD under the rules of the conservatorship. A source revealed to HollywoodLife that the number one priority for Britney now is to have another child and that her sons are completely on board and supportive of their mother's plans. "They’d love to have a little brother or little sister," the source shared. "She talks to the boys about the next steps of her new life. This has always been a dream of hers. She feels like so much of her childhood and growing up with her kids was stolen from her that she wants a second chance. This is her second chance with Sam."
