Camila Cabello is just a few days away from her debut as Cinderella in the new jukebox musical, due to premiere tomorrow (September 3) on Amazon Prime.

At the premiere in LA, Cabello showed up in a princess-with-a-modern-twist outfit that had fans swoon. Despite the excitement surrounding this new iteration of the classic fairy tale by Charles Perrault, it seems that the film has garnered mostly negative reviews from critics who have had an early look at it.

Camila Cabello Slays At 'Cinderella' Premiere With Shawn Mendes

For the LA premiere of Cinderella on August 30, Cabello paired a sparkling high-low Oscar de la Renta gown with tall black boots. The dress featured a sheer silver-embroidered bodice and a long black skirt.

Her outfit wasn't any less dreamy at the Miami premiere, where she was accompanied by her boyfriend, singer Shawn Mendes. Cabello wore a cascading cream tulle skirt from Christian Siriano’s Spring 2021 collection. She paired the skirt with a cropped white tank and small, sparkly purse, wearing her hair in a shorter style. Mendes, on the other hand, donned white trousers and a sheer black shirt.

"SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL," one fan wrote on Twitter.

"the answer is Camila Cabello as Cinderella," another fan stated.

Critics Slam Cabello's 'Cinderella' While Praising Porter's Performance

Critics, sadly, don't seem to agree.

The latest version of the classic fairy tale, the film has a fairly low score on movie review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes: 40%.

"While Cannon's creative approach and jukebox musical style point to an elegant redesign of this most familiar of garments, her execution puts quite a few tears in the fabric," the review published by Variety reads.

"Cinderella buckles under the weight of its intentions, and not even its formidable cast - Menzel, Billy Porter, Minnie Driver and Pierce Brosnan - can save it," The Hollywood Reporter's review states.

"Written and directed by Kay Cannon, Cinderella's music is enjoyable, but it's hollow, the performances flat, and the dialogue often cringe-worthy," Screen Rant made of the movie.

While some critics liked the film, praising its "enojoyable confection", for most film journalists the film just dind't work.

"Everything in Cinderella, admirable as its message may be, is soulless -- and that robs it of any joy," The Atlantic's review reads.
