Towards the back end of 2022, Cara Delevingne suffered from a ton of bad publicity which has made her career and personal life a huge talking point since. Cara was absolutely berated on Twitter when she accompanied Megan Thee Stallion to the Billboard Music Awards for her ‘odd’ behavior as she fanned her friend’s train and ‘latched on to’ the rapper throughout the night.
Twitter trolls and the tabloids ran with the story, framing Cara almost as a deranged stalker, so when she actually had quite a public breakdown later in the year, the internet had already made its mind on where it stood on Cara — doing what it does best and poking fun at women in vulnerable states.

In the Autumn of 2022, Cara Delevingne was photographed by paparazzi appearing disheveled and somewhat distressed outside Van Nuys Airport in her socks, where she was set to fly on Jay-Z’s private jet, which subsequently did not take off that day.
Delevingne was shortly spotted leaving the airport with her luggage and dog, Alfie.
This very public display of her poor physical state led to a lot of speculation in the press with regard to the mental well-being and sobriety of Cara, thereby resulting in a lot of online discourse, criticism, and trolling of the Carnival Row star, as well as comparisons to her own mother, who has a tragic history of substance abuse and mental illness.
Cara Delevingne has since revealed to Vogue on March 8th, 2023 that she was four months sober and that she had been struggling to simply exist with the pressures of the industry.
She shared that the paparazzi photos were ultimately ‘something to be grateful for,’ serving as a wake-up call, and explained how they reminded her that substances were only a very temporary solution to what was a much deeper internal problem.

As a result of Cara's recurrent appearances in the tabloids, of late, searches for her filmography have risen significantly, with her professional life and career piquing the interest of the general public, clearly keen to see what the actress is capable of on-screen.
Cara’s career on the big screen began in 2012 when she took a minor role in Anna Karenina — a film adaptation of the classic Tolstoy novel which was met with critical acclaim. Her acting career really took off, however, in 2015 when she starred as the lead in the film adaptation of John Green’s hugely successful young-adult novel, Paper Towns.
Playing the archetypal ‘cool girl’, that was oh-so-trendy in the mid-2010s, Delevingne’s popular portrayal of Margo won her two Teen Choice Awards and could have easily solidified her casting in Kids In Love just a year later, catering to a very similar audience of 'misunderstood' artsy teens.
Arguably Cara’s biggest acting gig to date was DC’s Suicide Squad, featuring an ensemble of A-List actors and a budget of $175 million, with Delevingne starring as the main antagonist of the film, Enchantress.
The film's major cast and character roster of Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker, meant that the blockbuster had no struggle in turning a profit, making $135 million in just its opening weekend in the US, alone, breaking Guardians Of The Galaxy's previously set record of $94 million.

Based on real events, The Climb tells the story of a team of climate activists who climb London’s ‘Shard’ in a protest against Shell.
Cara will star as one of the leading characters who played an integral part in the demonstration. Director, Hayley Easton Street, shared with Variety that she ‘couldn’t be more excited about bringing this important environmental story to life, and letting the amazing characters, and thrilling action truly shine on screen.’
Delevingne and Machine Gun Kelly are also due to feature in Punk as a sibling duo involved in a heist alongside a reluctant, or even unaware, Vince Staples. This road-trip thriller is said to be executive produced by none other than Sylvester Stallone and reportedly began filming in 2019 but has more than likely faced major delays due to the pandemic.
Whilst Cara’s calendar isn’t yet quite booked up with film and TV gigs, that’s not to say that runway appearances are off the cards for the star. Following a much-needed rebrand, Victoria’s Secret is set to make its comeback after a four-year hiatus. It would be a surprise if the brand didn’t attempt to cast some of its most iconic ‘angels’ from collections past to make a comeback for their 2023 show.
Having featured in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 show in November 2022, Delevingne has proven that she is still happy to stun in a lingerie campaign, whether that’s even the direction the controversial brand even decides to move in, given the adjustments that are set to be made.
