Cardi B has a lot going on these days, with her upcoming role in a movie and all the work involved in continuing to promote her new music.

However, she took pause for a family vacation with Offset and their daughter Kulture, and it appears she was using her downtime by playing on her phone. Using a meme and some creative editing, she made it appear as though she was a midget in one of the images, and then she took a shot at making it appear as though Offset was in a tiny body.

It didn’t take long before the critics crawled out of the woodwork, and Cardi B was trolled for making fun of those with dwarfism.

Tone Deaf, Or Too Sensitive?

Fans aren’t sure if this was just a tone-deaf post or if she was truly being offensive. Some fans believe that she put up a funny post intending nothing other than lighthearted humor, and that this was in good fun without thinking it through, but many of them are deeply offended and are lashing out. Those who are trolling her are coming after her pretty hard.

The image seems to be fan art that is reposted, and there are a number of fans that rushed to Cardi's defense after the initial attacks started by those who felt this to be offensive. This comes soon after Sia found had to defend herself for not casting an autistic person to play that role in her movie titled Music. Casting Maddie Ziegler has caused an uproar. For Cardi, this was a meme based post and not a casting decision, so fans felt there would be no way to explain her way out of this mess.

Backlash From Fans

Those who were up in arms over this post were clearly not seeing the humor that Cardi B seemed to intend. By all accounts, she was just seeing humor in a post that she thought she'd share, but many people didn't perceive it to be lighthearted humor at all.

Fan backlash began with commentary such as; "I just want to know what she was trying to do," and "rich folk got nothing better to do than poke fun at those with special needs." Others chimed in with; "Yo, WT* Is This," "that be rude, bro, why you go do that for?". Another fan wrote in to say; "Very offensive to those with dwarfism I’m sure they wish they could make funny memes of them tall or regular size DO better Cardi, 'Cmon it’s 2021," which sparked the response: "100% agree, like so weird no body notices???? F***n weirdos making fun of a disability."
