Fans of childhood television favorites like Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, Scooby Doo, and Adventure Time looking to embark on a cartoon-inspired adventure slash trendy tropical vacation will be excited to discover that come 2020, a Cartoon Network theme park is set to open in Bali.
Begin setting those flight alerts, packing those travel bags, and scheduling some of that much-needed away time, because it’s likely that everybody’s inner child will be coming out in just a couple of years.
This interesting new integrated project is said to be a primary part of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex. This is a premier tourist destination in southern Bali featuring world-class luxury hotels and an award-winning golf course, as reported by Travel Weekly. The thrillingly awesome ten-acre park is set to occupy 4.3 hectares of land as part of the complex. Simply put, the park is basically an ever-important part of larger development plans aiming to “cement Bali as the premier family destination in Asia and one of the world’s top tourist locations,” says Gita Wirjawan, chairman of The MAJ Group.
With “water rides, surf rides, wave pools, an entertainment center and more,” Cartoon Network's very first theme park will easily achieve these great goals. It is set to have both indoor and outdoor locations, as well as a massive waterpark, according to Turner Asia Pacific. It will also combine “world-class design with unparalleled Balinese hospitality” and by offering “guests genuine fun powered by Cartoon Network, Asia’s leading kid's entertainment brand,” as company President Ricky Ow noted.
Did we also mention that apart from tons of themed rides from some of our fave shows, there will also be live performances featuring all of the best CN animated characters? Yes.
It's been a busy time for theme park openings, to say the least. Pixar is set to debut Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World in just a few weeks and Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan will be opening in 2020 as well.
But what’s now known as Indonesia’s first internationally-branded park and partnership, seems to be the most noteworthy upcoming attraction of all. Unsurprisingly, it's already got us freaking out with excitement and screaming oh-my-glob.
Next stop: Bali. See you there!
