It seems like forever ago when Cassadee Pope won The Voice during season three of the hit NBC show. Pope was a four-chair turn who ended up on Blake Shelton's team and took it all the way to the end. CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera fought tooth and nail for the pop-country singer, but Shelton won her over with his southern charm.

They two had an amazing dynamic and he even let her sing his touching song, "Over You," which he wrote with his ex-wife Miranda Lambert. She is one of many former Voice contestants to find success in the music industry after being on the show.

6 Cassadee Pope's Career Took Off

After winning the reality singing competition, Cassadee Pope's career took off. It didn't take long for the country artist to top charts and tour with the greats. Pope signed a deal with a major Nashville record label and that skyrocketed her music career. Her hit solo in 2013, "Wasting All These Tears," put The Voice star on the map. Many have the ability to win a singing show, but not many can achieve success after the lights and cameras fade away. Cassadee Pope has definitely made a name for herself in the music industry over the last nine years.

5 Cassadee Pope Moved To Nashville

Once Cassadee Pope signed a record deal with Big Machine Label Group, she hopped on a plane a moved out to Nashville, Tennessee. This is where her career really took off and she started to transform into the artist she's always dreamed of. Opportunities came knocking but Cassadee Pope didn't have the easiest ride to stardom.

4 Cassadee Pope Recorded “Think Of You” With Chris Young

She toured early on with Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, and more recently, Chris Young. In 2016, Pope released a duet track with the country star called, "Think Of You." Young's duet tracked scored big and quickly soared to No. 1 on the charts and received a Grammy nomination for best country duo/group vocal performance. Just when things were looking up for Cassadee, she still felt like her voice wasn't being heard at her record label. Pope left the Big Machine Label Group after stylistic disagreements regarding her next album.

3 Cassadee Pope Became An Independent Artist

Leaving such a big label and seeking an independent career is a risky move. However, Pope felt as if she lost the real reason she loved singing in the first place and needed to find herself again. In 2017, Cassadee Pope decided to part ways with her label and become an independent artist.

“All of a sudden, I was on my own,” Pope, 29, said during an interview in Nashville. “There was a lot of self-discovery that year, a lot of ups and downs. I took advantage of the downs and just wrote through it.” Cassadee quickly learned how much she enjoyed having complete creative control. “At first it was, ‘Maybe I’ll record some songs and start pitching them and showing people’ and be like, 'This is the sound. Are you in or you out?’ ” Pope said. But before she knew it, she and her producer finished the whole album themselves. “It just all sort of fell into place.”

2 Cassadee Pope's Next Era Of Music With “What The Stars See”

Cassadee Pope is excited to be making music that feels most authentic to her with Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild and songwriter Lindsay Ell. “It has been the best experience ever in the studio; it has been the most fun I’ve ever had,” she gushes. “I’ve just been so focused on staying authentic and doing what makes me happy. It’s definitely opened up all these different doors in my brain when it comes to creativity and songwriting."

Cassadee Pope took a few years off from music and re-discovered her talent in the pandemic. That giant pause from reality was a way for Cassadee to revisit old internal issues that may have not ever resurfaced.

“I think the project as a whole, the way it’s shaping, is an album that really confronts things from my past that I’ve shied away from writing about until now and letting myself feel sad about it,” Pope admits. “The songs that came out of just that acceptance… I mean, they’re the most powerful songs I’ve ever written, so I think the gist of the album is just letting yourself feel whatever those feelings are and not just surviving but thriving from those experiences.”

1 Cassadee Pope Is Dating Sam Palladio

Love has also knocked on Cassadee Pope's door with none other than Nashville star, Sam Palladio. The pair have been dating for four years and Sam was even featured in Cassadee's third album. He sang on the television drama and was singing in her song “California Dreaming.” Pope's acoustic record, "Rise and Shine," is dedicated to her loving boyfriend who has been there for her through her abandonment issues.

"I'm very open with my boyfriend about it," she says. "He's very supportive and gives me everything I need to feel safe and content. So you also need a partner to kind of help you with it too. I'm very lucky that I have that."

The couple moved in together on November 2019 into a beautiful Nashville residence. Hopefully, wedding bells are in the near future as well as more albums from this popstar!
