Growing up with famous parents may make it easier to get into the acting business, but some of these Hollywood families even go back three generations! While some of our favorite stars are known for their famous parents, we forget that their grandparents actually started the chain of getting into the world of acting.

Stars like Dakota Johnson may be known for her steamy roles in Fifty Shades of Grey, and by her famous parents, Melanie Griffth and Don Johnson, but her grandmother is also a very famous actress. Johnson's grandma Tippi Hedren is recognized for her roles in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds and Marine. These very famous actors got their acting chops from somewhere and it goes back to their very famous grandparents!

10 Ethan Peck

Ethan Peck has been in numerous films, with his most well-known role as a young Spock in Star Trek: Discovery, which the 34-year-old actor is set to revisit for the upcoming television series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Fans can already guess who Ethan Peck's famous grandfather is just by the star's last name. The actor's grandfather is the late Gregory Peck, who was the most popular film actor from the 40s to the 60s, with his most notable film including, To Kill a Mockingbird and Roman Holiday. 

9 Chris Pine

Chris Pine may have gotten his acting chops from his famous grandmother. Pine has been in a bunch of films, including The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Into the Woods, and more currently, starred as James T. Kirk in the Star Wars film series.

Pine's grandmother was Anne Gwynne, who was a Universal Studios actress in films like Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe. Chris Pine's mother also took on acting and starred in the film Fade to Black, a 1980's slasher film.

8 Steven R. McQueen

Steven R. McQueen is most known for his role in the fantasy drama The Vampire Diaries, where he played Jeremy Gilbert. He later went on to star in the NBC drama Chicago Fire.

McQueen comes from a famous acting background with his grandfather being Steven McQueen, who was nicknamed the "King of Cool" in the 60s and 70s. He starred in films like The Great Escape and The Sand Pebbles, for which he received an Academy Awards nomination for.

7 Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore is a veteran in Hollywood and has been acting since she was a kid, starring in the 1982 classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial when she was just 7-years-old. She's gone on to star in bigger acting roles and has even launched her own makeup line FLOWER Beauty.

Barrymore may have gotten a slightly easier start in Hollywood because her grandfather was John Barrymore, who acted in the 1910s to 1940s. Barrymore married silent actress, Dolores Costello, and they had Drew Barrymore's father, John Drew Barrymore.

6 Tony Goldwyn

We all recognize actor Tony Goldwyn who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on the drama Scandal. But, what fans may not know is that Goldwyn comes from a very influential background.

His grandfather was Samuel Goldwyn, a film producer, whose name is part of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).

5 Katie Cassidy

Fans of the show Arrow will recognize Katie Cassidy, who stars as Canary in the action series. Her last name is quite familiar with her father being the famous David Cassidy who was a singer and actor on The Partridge Family.

However, her grandfather Jack Cassidy was just as famous. Jack was nominated for two Primetime Emmys for The Andersonville Trial and He & She. Cassidy also received multiple Tony Award nominations and a win for his work on the Broadway production of She Loves Me. 

4 Oona Castilla Chaplin

Actress Oona Castilla Chaplin played Talisa Maegyr in the HBO series Game of Thrones, and her last name is a giveaway of who her famous grandfather is. The actress's grandfather is none other than Charlie Chaplin who rose to fame in the silent movie era and is one of the most important figures in the movie industry.

Charlie Chaplin was more than an actor and went on to direct his very own films. Some of the most famous movies of Chaplin's include, 1921's The Kid, 1925's The Gold Rush, and 1940s The Great Dictator, in which he was nominated for an Oscar for best actor.

3 Anjelica Huston

Actress Anjelica Huston is recognized for her roles in movies such as The Addams Family and The Royal Tenenbaums. And, it looks like she had an interest in pursing acting thanks to her famous grandfather, Walter Huston.

Walter was in movies including Dodsworth and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, in which he won the Oscar for Best Actor in the late 40s.

2 Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson comes from a long line of famous actors and actresses. Not only are her parents famous actors Melanie Griffth and  Don Johnson, her grandmother, Tippi Hedren, was also a popular star.

Hedren was movie director Alfred Hitchcock's muse for his films The Birds and Marnie.  Now, at the age of 90, Tippi is living peacefully at her California animal sanctuary, Shambala Preserve, in Action, California, where she cares for her lions and tigers. In the 1980s, Hedren famously posed for a picture in a kitchen while a tiger' poked his head through the window.

1 Riley Keough

Actress Riley Keough may not have the Presley last name, but sure enough, she is the granddaughter of rock and roll legend Elvis Presley. Her mother is Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis and Pricilla Presley.

Speaking to Esquire, the actress stated that she doesn't really think about her famous grandfather. "People always ask, 'How crazy is it that your grandpa was Elvis and your stepdad was Michael Jackson?' "I  make them happy and say, 'Yeah, it's soooo crazy!' But actually, I don't think about it. Ever.'" She added, "The reality is I know as much about my grandpa as you'd know about your grandpa you never met."
