A-list celebs might not reveal everything that happened during their time in high school, but old photos of stars like Halle Berry and Meryl Streep reveal these actresses were actually prom queens. Some celebs might say they were the "nerdy" ones in high school, but we have the photos to prove that 10 celebrities were actually the popular teens and were voted either prom queen or homecoming queen.

10 Halle Berry

Halle Berry made history when she became the first African American woman to win an Oscar in 2002 for best actress for her role in Monster's Ball. Back in high school, the star also made history when she was the first African American girl to become homecoming queen of Bedford High School, in Ohio, where she attended.

This black and white photo of Berry was taken in 1984, the year she graduated from high school in Bedford, Ohio. She looks stunning in her prom dress and tiara after winning the title.

9 Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning has been in the acting business since she was seven, when she starred in I Am Sam in 2001. Since then, she's landed some pretty prominent roles in top films and continues to shine in Hollywood.

Unlike many child stars who don't feel the need to finish high school because they've made so much money, Fanning went back and was even voted prom queen in 2009 and 2010 at North Hollywood's Campbell Hall Episcopal High School.

8 Meg Ryan

Fans fell in love with actress Meg Ryan when she starred in heartfelt movies like Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, and When Harry Met Sally, and her friends also felt the same about her when she was in high school.
