It often makes you wonder, how do the paparazzi always find these celebrities? It seems as if they always know their exact location.
Believe it or not, some celebrities are guilty of calling the paparazzi on themselves. This may seem silly, but it's actually a very well-thought-out plan. By calling the paparazzi on themselves, they get the attention they want. Whether they're an up-and-coming new star, or just need to get some attention because of a new project, sometimes calling the paparazzi is a good thing.
10 Lindsay Lohan
Back in the day during the height of Lindsay Lohan's career, she was constantly being hounded by the paparazzi everywhere she went. Although sometimes Lindsay was caught by the paps was by chance, a lot of the times she called them herself. Lindsay's career was getting bigger and bigger, but calling the paparazzi and having constant new pictures of Lindsay out and about, she'd be constantly in the press and have people constantly talking about her. We think it's safe to say that it did work, as back then, Lindsay was literally everywhere.

There are a number of different reasons why a celebrity would call the paparazzi on themselves besides being a new up-and-coming celeb and wanting to get some attention. There are other celebrities like Ryan Reynolds, for example, that have called the paparazzi when they need to promote something.
Ryan has been known to use the paparazzi to stage shots that show him using different products that he's supposed to promote. He's been caught walking up the street clutching a perfectly placed bag of Burger King, or eating a Chobani yogurt. There was once a time that Britney Spears couldn't even leave her house without being hounded by the paparazzi. While she might have been the hottest celebrity at the moment, the paparazzi didn't always know exactly where she would be and when she would be there. The night of her infamous meltdown when she shaved her head, it wasn't by pure coincidence that the paparazzi knew she would be in that random salon ready to shave her head. According to the owner of the salon, Britney's bodyguards had tipped off the paparazzi of where she would be, which allowed them to get those infamous pictures. It wasn't the first time the paparazzi was called for Britney and it wouldn't be the last.

Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt used to be huge reality stars back in the day, and it felt like every day we had new paparazzi pictures of them. People often wondered just how the paparazzi constantly found these two, considering the fact that they were just MTV reality show stars. Heidi and Spencer later admitted that they would often call the paparazzi themselves and set up a time and place for them to take their photo. They were making money by selling their paparazzi photos and had made well over $1 million on their staged photos alone.

It would get people talking about them, and wondering who Kim was. It certainly worked as Paris was everywhere, and Kim went on to be a star in her own tight.

Tori Spelling is another celeb who is guilty of often tipping off the paparazzi of her whereabouts to help promote herself. Whenever she’s having some bad press, she takes matters into her own hands and calls the paparazzi to take some photos to distract the public from whatever story is being run in the press. For example, when it was reported that she was having some trouble with her marriage, she called the paparazzi to stage some photos of her and her husband and their children in a pumpkin patch to show the public that everything was okay.

Despite the fact that Angelina Jolie is as famous as she is, she also uses the paparazzi to her advantage. When her image wasn’t the greatest in the early 2000s, she used the paparazzi to help her out. Right after she adopted her son Maddox, she arranged to have some paparazzi photos taken to prove that she wasn’t the celebrity with the bad image but instead a doting mother who only wanted to be there for her children and take care of them. Lucky for Angelina, her plan definitely seemed to work in her favor.
3 Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes also has used the paparazzi to her advantage in the past, but unfortunately, it doesn't always work out. Amanda called the paparazzi on herself in order to make herself look good during her period of time where she was going through a lot of mental health issues and very public meltdowns. She was hoping that the staged photos would make her look better and take away from all the legal trouble and public meltdowns she was going through, but it, unfortunately, didn't do anything to help her out. Ultimately, her plan backfired.

It's no secret that Taylor Swift is an A-list celebrity, but she's also guilty of calling the paparazzi on herself. Back when she was dating Tom Hiddleston, there were quite a few calculated paparazzi photos of the two of them that were pretty planned. When she was dating Tom, it was also around the same time she was feuding with Kim Kardashian. Why not distract the public with brand new loved-up photos of her and her boyfriend to take away from all of the bad press she was getting? She used the paparazzi as a distraction tool and used it to her advantage.
1 Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
It seems as if everywhere you turn you see at least one member of the Kardashian/Jenner family, especially Kim Kardashian. Of course, the paparazzi love to follow Kim around, as famous as she is, but there have been plenty of times that Kim actually called them herself, especially when she was with her then-husband, Kanye West. According to Kanye's former bodyguard, he saw on many occasions that Kim and Kanye would often tip off the paparazzi wherever they were going to be so they would be there to take their photos. It wasn't just a coincidence, after all.
