Everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame. Some people are fortunate to get it and to carry on having it for most of their lives. They become household names and earn millions of dollars to travel the world and have the time of their life.

Acquiring celebrity status doesn't mean you keep it for life. You have to work hard to remain relevant. Otherwise, you fall off the wagon and become a regular civilian. Some celebrities chose to leave the spotlight while others were forced out of it. We wanted to find out which celebrities are no longer in the spotlight and are working regular jobs.

20 Danny Lloyd - Professor

If you wanted to watch a horror movie in the '80s, the one that wouldn't have gone over your head was The Shining.

The film starred Jack Nicholson, as well as Danny Lloyd, who played Danny Torrance. At the time Lloyd was a child actor, but he ventured into academia and became a professor.

19 Michael Maronna - Electrician

Best known for his role as Big Pete in the TV show The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Maronna also starred in movies such as Home Alone and 40 Days and 40 Nights.

He is still involved in the movie industry but behind the scenes. Maronna works as an electrician on movie sets.

18 Steven Anthony Lawrence - Teacher

Lawrence gained prominence when he was cast for a recurring role as Bernard "Beans" Aranguren in Disney Channel Original Series Even Stevens.

He has also starred in TV programs such as Married with Children, ER and Frasier. After the acting, Lawrence decided to become a teacher.

17 Nikki Blonsky - Cosmetologist

Blonsky gained fame when she starred in 2007 film Hairspray and the following year in Queen Sized. After those movies, Blonsky moved away from Hollywood and got a job as a cosmetologist, according to the Daily Mail.

As long as she's happy, that's all that matters. Not everybody enjoys Hollywood.

16 Susan Boyle - Manager

The audience at Britain's Got Talent didn't believe that Boyle could sing, but they changed their minds when Boyle opened her mouth. Sweet melodies poured out of her mouth and won over the audience.

Since the music career, Finance 101 reported that Boyle picked up an application for a store manager.

15 Chris Owen - Waiter

One of the most popular teen movies were the American Pie franchise. Owen played a character called the Sherminator.

Although he was one of the funniest characters in the movie, his stint in the spotlight didn't last long. He does photography as well as waiting tables at a restaurant.

14 Kevin Jonas - App Developer

Jonas became a big star when he formed a rock band with his brothers Joe and Nick. The band was called Jonas Brothers. Since then, Jonas has ventured into entrepreneurship and ended up developing apps.

Technology is the way to go, so Jonas might have a big breakthrough in the tech industry.

13 Jon Gosselin - IT Administrator

During the early days of Jon & Kate Plus 8, the former husband and wife used to get along. Unfortunately, the couple got divorced in 2009. Although Kate's aim was to stay in the spotlight, Jon decided to keep a low profile.

Hollywood Life reported that Jon was working as an IT Administrator.

12 Dylan Sprouse - Brewmaster

Being a twin has several perks. Dylan is Cole's twin brother. The two of them starred in Disney's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

Once they grew up, the brothers seemed to go in separate directions in terms of their careers. It seems that Dylan enjoys beer, as he took a position as a brewmaster.

11 Jamie Walters - Paramedic

After starring on Beverly Hills 90210, Walters ventured into the music industry. He was successful as a musician when he released the self-entitled debuted album in 1994. The first single peaked at no.16 on the Billboard Top 100.

After the music career, it seems that Walters became a paramedic.

10 Hayden Christensen - Farmer

Talk about making a massive change. Christensen became a global star after he starred as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars. He got offered plenty of roles after Star Wars but turned them down.

Instead of shooting movies, Christensen bought a farm and became a farmer. It seems like he's making an acting comeback.

9 Al Green - Preacher

Don't tell Al Green that he's 73 years old since he looks much younger. Good for him. He used to be a singer and songwriter and had a series of hit singles in the 1970s.

Green might not be on the singing stage, but he found a home on a preaching stage. He is a preacher and enjoys what he does.

8 Jeff Cohen - Lawyer

Baby boomers are the ones who will be most familiar with Cohen's work in the '80s. He is best known for his role as Chunk in the 1985 film The Goonies.

Cohen's last acting role was in 1991. After he left the spotlight, Cohen decided to pursue law. He graduated from law school and founded Cohen Gardner Law.

7 Macaulay Culkin - Blogger

Starting his career as a child actor, Culkin became known to worldwide audiences when he starred as Richie Rich. He also ventured into music but ended up being a blogger and a podcast broadcaster.

Although Culkin doesn't appear regularly in movies, he has starred in 2019 movie called Changeland.

6 Erik Estrada - Police Reserve Officer

Known for playing Franchise Poncherello in the police drama television series CHiPs, Estrada didn't veer too far from his on-screen persona when he left the spotlight. He became a police reserve officer after leaving acting.

The police department has honored him for helping them crackdown on hardened criminals.

5 Freddy Prinze Jr. - Chef

He might have been the heartthrob in the '90s, but Freddy Prinze Jr. didn't seem to have a problem leaving the spotlight.

He is still married to Sarah Michelle Gellar, who started a baking business. Prinze wasn't too far behind since he got involved in culinary studies and became a chef. He's published a cooking book.

4 Geena Davis - Social Activist

Davis has starred in some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters, but it seems that she has found her calling elsewhere.

After leaving Hollywood, Davis became a social activist and found a non-profit organization called Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. She works on promoting gender equality.

3 Gene Hackman - Author

Although Hackman might not be starring in movies such Enemy of the State or The Heist anymore, he still has a pretty cool job.

Hackman is a published author and has become a household name in the publishing world by writing books such as Justice For None, Pursuit and Payback at Morning Peak. Well done to him.

2 MC Hammer - Tech Consultant

Gaining popularity in the '80s, MC Hammer was one of the biggest rappers in the world until the early '90s. His hit single Can't Touch This is a classic.

Although MC Hammer is no longer producing singles, he decided to venture into the tech industry by becoming a consultant.

1 Vanilla Ice - House Developer

Although Vanilla Ice's hit single Ice Ice Baby was released in the '90s, it is still played in clubs. It seems like that song will remain a classic. Vanilla Ice might not be making hits any longer, but he has found his calling in real estate.

He is a successful house developer and has managed to do very well in that industry.
