The world of Harry Potter is a rather large one. With seven books, eight movies, and millions of fans all over the world, there's most likely no bigger fandom than the Harry Potter fandom. With so many movies and so many storylines and characters, it's hard to forget who has been in any of the eight movies.

There have been a number of famous people that have had very minor or decent roles in either one or a few of the movies over the years. Some of them have bigger roles, like Robert Pattinson and Emma Thomson, while other celebs have very small roles that are so small that you'll blink and miss them like Julianne Hough and Regé-Jean Page. Either way, with eight movies, there are quite a few celebrities you might have forgotten were in Harry Potter movies.

10 Robert Pattinson

When we think of Robert Pattinson, we tend to think more of his role as Edward Cullen in  Twilight than anything else. However, people tend to forget that he was once in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. Robert played the role of Cedric Diggory, a rival of Harry's during the Triwizard Tournament.

While competing in the tournament, Harry and Cedric run into Voldemort, and things get even more dangerous from there as Voldemort orders Cedric to be killed. The death of Cedric was terribly sad, as he begged Harry to bring his body back to his father. Harry does so, and Cedric's father weeps over his son's body as he and Harry return from their run-in with Voldemort.

9 Regé-Jean Page

These days you can't go anywhere without someone talking about Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page, who plays the Duke of Hastings. Regé-Jean appears in the seventh movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1uncredited where he simply plays an extra. The role is so small that if you blink, you just might miss him, and his role goes. You can find him during Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour's wedding, as he's standing next to Hermione Granger and Mrs. Weasly. Chaos ensues as the Death Eaters crash the wedding and sends everything into a frenzy.

8 Julianne Hough

Believe it or not, Julianne Hough was once in a Harry Potter movie. When she was about 11 years old, she appeared as an extra in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Because she attended a renowned performing arts school in London, she was able to land the role. Julianne played a member of the Gryffindor house and called the experience one of the coolest things that she ever got to do. Her brother even joined her as an extra and if you blink, you might miss Julianne in a crowd of students.

7 Hero Fiennes-Tiffin

Hero Fiennes-Tiffin is an up-and-coming actor that recently rose to fame by starring in the After saga movies. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Hero played an 11-year-old Tom Riddle, who is the younger version of Voldemort. You might notice that Hero has a striking resemblance to the real Voldemort, as Ralph Fiennes who plays the Dark Lord, is actually Hero’s real-life uncle. Hero wasn’t given the role because of the real-life connection, but it was certainly a bonus that they have that family resemblance to one another.

6 Emma Thompson

Because her costume in the movie is so good and convincing, it's easy to forget that Emma Thompson was in three Harry Potter movies where she played Professor Sybill Trelawney and professor of Divination. You can find her in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Emma played the zany Professor Trelawney who was able to make the prophecy that about Voldemort coming and the prophecy with the ability to take down Voldemort. Although she's not in all the movies, she still plays a rather important role in all three films that she does appear in.

5 Derek Hough

Along with his sister Julianne Hough, Derek Hough also appeared as an extra in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. While Julianne was a member of Gryffindor, Derek was a part of Ravenclaw. His role in the movie was so quick that if you blink, you would miss him. You can see him in the background as he walks past Hermione. Although his role was so small, he loved the experience of being able to be on set and see how the movie was filmed. Regardless of how small, he admitted that getting the part was one of the coolest things he ever got to do.

4 Verne Troyer

Although he's hardly recognizable in the movie, Verne Troyer played Griphook in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Also, Verne only portrayed Griphook, he did not voice him. Although Griphook appears in the last two movies, Verne doesn’t play him. Instead, the role was taken over by Warwick Davis who is know for sure his role as Professor Filius Flitwick. Warwick also voiced Griphook when Verne portrayed him in the first movie.

3 David Tennant

You might know him as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, but David Tennant also had a role in Harry Potter as Bartemius Crouch Junior. David appeared in the fourth movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where his character, Barty Crouch Junior, is a loyal follower of Lord Voldemort and became a Death Eater when he was just a teenager, devoting his life to the Dark Lord. He fixed the Triwizard Tournament so Harry would be chosen and forced to compete. He also created a portkey so Harry would immediately be taken to Voldemort.

2 Jonny Greenwood

In another blink and you might miss it role, Jonny Greenwood of the alternative band Radiohead appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth movie and book of the series. In the movie, he played the role of Kirley Duke, who is the lead guitar player of The Weird Sisters. The band plays at the Yule Ball, which is a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament. He appears a few times as the band is shown playing as students dance and drink at the ball.

1 John Cleese

It's easy to forget that John Cleese was in Harry Potter. John played one of the most iconic ghosts in Hogwarts — Nearly Headless Nick. Even though the infamous ghost is in pretty much all of the novels, John Cleese as Nearly Headless Nick is only in the first two movies, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as well as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It’s unclear why he didn’t get to appear in all eight of the movies, but we definitely appreciate his portrayal of the infamous ghost and the way he brought Nearly Headless Nick to “life.”
