The one question on everyone's mind after Pottermore made an appearance on the scene was this: Which house? It seemed that, all of a sudden, everyone was asking their friends, relatives and random people on the street whether they were a Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin. Clothing lines and apparel were created, pins were available for purchase and we covered our social media in our house colors.
Now, although the days of the Harry Potter uproar have toned down a bit, the question still lingers on our minds... especially since some celebs have taken it upon themselves to openly divulge their own sorting results.
10 Kit Harrington Is, Unsurprisingly, A Gryffindor
It's no secret that Gryffindors have an unfair reputation for being the 'best' house at Hogwarts, but with a member like Kit Harrington, who could argue otherwise? The Game of Thrones hero was sorted into the fearless house and shows no shame in admitting what he is.
It's not like we'd really expect anything less, though, considering no other house seems to fit his on-screen (or loveable off-screen) personality so well. Now, the big question is this: Which houses do his co-stars fall into? Inquiring minds wish to know... a crossover perhaps, HBO?
9 Evanna Lynch Is Not Actually A Ravenclaw
Evanna Lynch played the role of Luna Lovegood so unbelievably well that we often forget that she's not actually a Ravenclaw outside of the big screen. In fact, much to our surprise, the mysterious witch herself is actually a Gryffindor.
In all fairness, considering her fearlessness and talent for always having the answers, it shouldn't be all that surprising that she landed herself in the king of all houses. However, we do still wonder how much of Luna was acting and how much was true to Evanna's personality. Maybe the Sorting Hat itself was easily tricked? #
8 Rupert Grint Is True To His Character
Rupert Grint, known on-screen for his role as Ron Weasley, happens to be entirely, one-hundred percent a Gryffindor in real-life. We can't say we're too surprised over this one, as he seems to have a heart of gold and a personality that would win Godric Gryffindor himself over.
This makes sense when compared to his on-screen co-stars, one of which claims to also be a true Gryffindor. Although Daniel Radcliffe has yet to take the Pottermore sorting quiz (which we're still holding out hope for), he claims that he's just as true a Gryffindor as Harry Potter is.
7 No Surprise: Andrew Lincoln Is Also A Gryffindor
There seems to be an ongoing trend here: actors who play heroes on-screen convincing the Sorting Hat that their true house is Gryffindor.
The more we read, the more faith we have in the fact that, yes, the Pottermore quiz is completely accurate. After all, no one in their right mind would deny the fact that Andrew Lincoln would be a member of the Gryffindor house. His heroic attitude, fun-loving personality and compassion make it somewhat of a no-brainer.
The only thing we wonder is if his enemy, Negan, would be sorted into Slytherin. Perhaps Jeffrey Dean Morgan can get on that for us.
6 In A Bizarre Twist Of Fate, Tom Felton Is Actually A Gryffindor
You might not want to acknowledge it as the truth, but it is... Tom Felton is, indeed, a Gryffindor.
This is one of those times when we must remind ourselves that the person we see on-screen is not the character in real-life (no matter how much we despise them). Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, has been sorted into Gryffindor via Pottermore.
Well, Draco ended up being somewhat good anyway, right? It was worth a shot. Either way, it's during these times we must also remind ourselves that Harry Potter was almost a Slytherin. How bizarre fate can be.
5 Bonnie Wright Is Also True To Her On-Screen House
We really would not have expected anything less of the adorable little Ginny Weasley. She became a total rebel in the end, really coming into her character and her heroism. We can only imagine that she took some parts of her role to heart, as Pottermore sorted her into Gryffindor.
This is something she's very proud of, but really, who wouldn't be? It's a credit to the directors, as well as J.K. Rowling, for choosing actors and actresses who displayed the off-screen attributes of a true hero as well. Or in this case, a true heroine!
4 J.K. Rowling Is Unfailingly A Gryffindor
It was big news when it was first revealed that J.K. Rowling was a Gryffindor; the world responded with a round of applause. It really wasn't surprising, considering she's the author of the series that changed the world (as well as telling it from the viewpoint of a fellow Gryffindor), but it was reassuring nonetheless.
Rowling has since admitted that she's also on Pottermore, without revealing her username, of course. She claims it's how she keeps track of the goings-on in the Pottermore world, but we'd imagine that she also has a little bit of fun there herself, too.
3 Selena Gomez Is Worthy Of The Title
Since overcoming a rough few years, Selena Gomez has proven to the world that she can truly come out of anything a stronger woman. When we first found out her Pottermore results, we can't say we were too surprised.
It seems there's no house more fitting for a woman who has achieved and gone through so much, and the action/singer seems to appreciate her results just as much as we do. We could also see her fitting into Ravenclaw, but that could just be because of her Wizards of Waverly Place history.
2 Margot Robbie Cheated A Little, But She's Still A Gryffindor
Margot Robbie, who we'd expect to be in Slytherin or Ravenclaw (sorry, Harley Quinn), is actually a Gryffindor. However, we can't be too sure of those results because the actress admitted in an interview with Elle that she actually rigged her results.
Because the responses are somewhat indicative of the house you'd be sorted into, Margot was able to pick and choose in order to get Gryffindor -- However, she claims that she would have ended up there anyway... Still, we can't fault her too much for doing exactly what Harry did.
1 Shawn Mendes Is A Harry Potter Fan As Well As A Fellow Gryffindor
Shawn Mendes, who is surprisingly a huge nerd when it comes to the Harry Potter world, is a proud Gryffindor. The singer is known for his music, of course, but perhaps now he'll be known for his nerdiness.
Considering his ambition and talent when it comes to being on stage and in the studio, it came as no surprise to us that he'd be a Gryffindor. We could definitely see him joining the ranks of Hufflepuff, too, but never a Ravenclaw and definitely never Slytherin. We think Gryffindor suits him just as much as he does.
