Nobody loves celebrities as much as their fans! It's not uncommon for A-listers to receive gifts from fans, and in worst case scenarios, they even have to file restraining orders against the most persistent ones. The tables can also turn, though. Some fans decided to sue their idols after they had an unfortunate encounter with them: be it in a concert, on a website, or in person.

Fans sue celebrities because unlike them, celebrities can certainly afford to pay tens of thousands of dollars worth of medical bills that many fans are faced with after suffering injuries. Most lawsuits are typically dropped, while some fans settle for less than they initially set out to win.

10 Louis Tomlinson

Louis Tomlinson, a former band member of One Direction, just wanted to enjoy a nice walk with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder, but little did he know that the day would result in him getting sued. First, a paparazzi snapped photos of them, so Tomlinson approached him to ask him to stop. But that's not the end of it. Anna Becerra saw the brawl from far-off and caught it all on her phone.

Louis' watchful eye caught her as well. Long story short, Anna's eye ended up getting hurt and so, she decided to press charges. Afterwards, she changed her mind and dropped the lawsuit.

9 Usher

According to SkyNews, several fans sued Usher because he knowingly gave them an STD. After his concert, Quantasia Sharpton had an opportunity to meet the artist in person. One thing led to another, but at no point in time did Usher tell her that he had herpes. Out of three fans that sued him, one contracted the disease.

8 Bon Jovi

Samuel Bartley Steele sued Bon Jovi for whopping $400 billion, claiming that the rock band stole his Red Sox song, "(Man I Really) Love This Team", and released it as "I Love This Town".

His animosity was rather misguided, though. If anything, he should've taken out his frustrations on Major League Baseball. After all, he approached them with the song in question, but they rejected it. Samuel didn't win the lawsuit, but he did manage to tarnish the reputation of Bon Jovi a little bit.

7 Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki's concerts match the energy of his music: they're fun, explosive, and a little bit unpredictable. In 2013, he was performing in San Diego. As part of the performance, he threw an inflatable dinghy in the crowd and then proceeded to crowd surf with such zeal that he broke Brittany Hickman's neck.

According to BBC, she was lucky. If that raft hit her under a different angle, she might have been paralyzed! She sued for $10 million, but they ultimately reached a confidential settlement.

6 Sia

The main reason why concert goers attend events is to hear their favorite musician's music live, but they also expect the performer to give them a shout out and at least acknowledge the city they're in. When Sia failed to do just that in Tel Aviv, she faced a lawsuit by all the disappointed Israeli fans.

The introverted Sia is one of those celebrities who hate being famous, so it's no wonder she didn't engage in conversation with her fans. She did what she did best: sing!

5 Justin Bieber

When Justin Bieber first rose to fame a little bit over a decade ago, he was just a teenager. He had one of the most frenzied fan base of the time. Hoards of ecstatic teenage girls rushed to his concerts and screamed with such fervor that they apparently caused tinnitus for one particular concert goer.

In 2010, Stacey Betts took her daughter to a Justin Bieber concert in Oregon. The fans' squealing was further intensified by JB's prop design, which, according to Hearing Review, acted as a sound conductor. She sued the superstar for whopping $9 million, but the case was eventually dismissed.

4 Gwen Stefani

The eternally young Gwen Stefani caused a stampede at her show in Charlotte in 2016, which resulted in a lawsuit by an enraged fan. Lisa Keri Stricklin was trampled after the singer urged her fans to come closer to the stage. The enthusiastic crowd broke her leg and so, Lisa sought reimbursement of at least $75,000 each from Stefani, PMC Music Pavillion, and Live Nation. After all, she had to cover the medical bills herself and lost quite a bit of her earnings in the process.

3 Miley Cyrus

In 2009, Miley Cyrus was sued for $4 billion, which is 25 times as much as her current net worth. Why? It's because she was being inappropriate and offensive, just like her employees said she could be sometimes. A certain photo made the rounds online and on it, Miley and her friends were slanting their eyes, allegedly mocking a young Asian man also present.

Lucie J. Kim sued Cyrus in the name of all Asian Pacific Islanders from the LA area. Needless to say, Miley didn't have that amount of money to give. She did apologize, though.

2 Rod Stewart

While Steve Aoki throws cakes and inflatable rafts into the crowd, Rod Stewart likes to throw footballs. Even though he's so far been sued three times because of it, he still hasn't given up the practice. In 1990, a couple sued him for $75,000. The football hit the woman's hand, which snowballed into a divorce some time down the line. They managed to settle for $17,000. Fast-forward a few years to when Stewart's football injured a fan's pinky finger and another one's nose.

1 Beyoncé

Beyoncé might have done a number of great things for the world, but in 2019, she slipped. Her production company, Parkwood Entertainment, discriminated against visually impaired fans.

According to Independent, Mary Conner sued the superstar because website violates the Americans with Disabilities Act. The images on her website lacked alt-texts, which made browsing the website nearly impossible for a considerable amount of her fan base.
