Grab yourself a bunch of limes and cut them in half, then scoop out the flesh. You'll need a super-sharp knife to make it easier for yourself. Next, mix up your red Jell-O using hot water, adding ice cubes once the mixture is fully dissolved to help the chilling process. Pour the Jell-O into the lime cases and refrigerate until they're firm to the touch. When they're ready, slice them in half to make watermelon-shaped segments. Sprinkling black sesame seeds on top of them gives the impression of watermelon seeds, and hey presto, you're the hostess with the most-est!

If you're wanting to add an extra kick to your mini-watermelons then try mixing in some vodka with the Jell-O, for an adult party treat that will make your soiree the talk of the town. The alcohol-free version is perfect for a kids party, or just as a refreshing snack in the summer sun. You could always pair it up with a watermelon margarita or a coconut smoothie to get those island vibes well and truly swinging.

You can even take the basics from this DIY and create some other fun and tasty fruit slice treats, with different flavors of Jell-O. There are countless combos!
