Chris Brown fans have joked that the singer is secretly "thrilled"after his ex Karrueche Tran reportedly split from boyfriend of three years, Victor Cruz.
"Right now, they are focused on continuing to grow their successful careers," a source told E! News.
"There are no hard feelings. This is just a case of two people moving forward in life separately."
Cruz, 34, is a former American football wide receiver. He won Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 while playing with the New York Giants.
Cruz and Tran went public with their romance in December 2017. They were photographed holding hands in LA and attended numerous red carpet events together.
However amid the coronavirus pandemic the couple were forced to conduct a long distance relationship. Victor stayed in New Jersey to be home with his daughter Kennedy, nine. Claws star Tran meanwhile stayed in Los Angeles.
"We're literally on the phone all the time," Victor admitted on revealed Live in May. "It's given us a lot of time to talk, obviously, and to just dig deeper and just get to know each other more and just find new things out."
Tran, 32, began dating R&B artist Chris Brown in 2010.
For the duration of their relationship, Brown was on probation after pleading guilty to felony assault for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Tran and Brown briefly broke up when Brown reconciled with the Bajan pop princess. After Breezy and RiRi broke up again, Brown and Tran continued their relationship.
But they split after it was revealed in March 2015 that Brown had a daughter, Royalty, with Nia Guzman.
In 2017, Karrueche won a 5-year restraining order against the "With You" singer.
A judge in Santa Monica, Calif., granted her request during a hearing Thursday, where she shared threatening text and voicemail messages from the Grammy winner.
The model/actress testified that Brown threatened to "beat the (expletive)" out of her and demanded she return diamond rings and other gifts, reported TMZ.
Tran also noted that he had physically assaulted her in the past, resulting in a temporary restraining order being issued in February.
At the time, she filed documents cataloging harassing messages from the singer in which he "threatened to kill me to others, threatened me via text messages and threatened to harass my friends."
But in 2019, the “Loyal” took to Instagram to disparage her now "ex boyfriend" Victor Cruz.
“No shade boo, BUT PLEASE STYLE HIM,” Brown commented on the former NFL player’s photo with Tran, 30, in a now-deleted series of comments.
“He look like he shopping of the manikin and trying to bargain wit the sales manager. Retired wrestler spanks.”
Brown has made a point to go after any man who poses with his ex-girlfriend in photos.
He commented “Imma kill blood” under a picture of her and actor Michael B. Jordan and physically threatened model Tyson Beckford after he posed for a selfie with Tran.
The "Run It" artist challenged Soulja Boy to a fight after the rapper liked one of Tran’s Instagram posts, and became “livid” when the model was linked to Migos musician Quavo.
In 2017, Brown publicly admitted on social media. “If I love you, b—h, ain’t nobody gonna have you. I’m gonna make you miserable. I’m gonna chase that n—a out. I’m gonna chase your ass around,” he said in an Instagram video.
After news that Karruche and Victor had allegedly split - the internet had a field day.
"I know Chris brown moonwalking around the house," one fan wrote online.
"Breezy somewhere rubbing his hands together," another added.
"Chris brown is praising God in the parking lot," a third chimed in.
"You no Chris bout to try to be back on her line he was waiting for this day," a fourth joked.
In November 2019, Brown had a baby with on-off girlfriend, Ammika Harris, who gave birth to the couple's son, Aeko Catori.
