Chris Hemsworth looked absolutely insane in Thor: Love and Thunder. In truth, his dedication behind the scenes was unreal, basically eating every two hours, and consuming 4,500 calories per day. And oh yea, let's not forget about his grueling training sessions as well...

In order to maintain that look, it continued during the shoot of the film, though he made special exceptions when it came to eating meat, like he would never consume certain foods around Natalie Portman, who is vegan.

Let's get started.

Transforming And Adding Muscle Was Usually An Easy Process For Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth has been through the transformation process a few times, calling it 'from dad bod to dad God'. Not only has Hemsworth taken a liking for training in his every day life, but the actor has transformed for roles time and time again, especially for his portrayal of Thor.

Speaking alongside Insider, the actor called the process an easy one usually, given that fact that he has experience in changing his body, along with the muscle memory that comes with it.

"Each time I've played the character and put the muscle on and out the size on, and then lost it for something else and played another character, there's muscle memory, and I used to say it sort of got easier each time."

The goal was to look bigger, and stronger than ever before. However, the process was extremely exhausting. Hemsworth recalls committing to the intense diet and training, only because of the pandemic and all of its hurdles.

"It was train, eat, train, eat. Nothing else to do," he explained. "Then I turned up for the film bigger than I've ever been."

Hemsworth revealed that it was a struggle and not something he'd consider doing again, especially in terms of his size on the big-screen.

"It was just exhausting," Hemsworth said. "I don't know, maybe I'm getting old, but things just started to hurt more."

"This was particularly hard. I think because the target weight we aimed for was quite a ways above where I'd been before. It was a really fun exploration, but I don't know that I wanna get that big again," he told Insider.

Speaking to his trainer Luke Zocchi, Hemsworth's fitness brand Centr delved into the details about both his eating and training plan.

Chris Hemworth's Trainer Revealed The Actor Was Eating All Day Long

So what was the goal for Chris Hemsworth, according to his trainer Luke Zocchi? Quite simply, to be stronger than ever, "Two words: STRONGEST EVER. The challenge was to live up to the comic book Thor, so he wanted to be the strongest, fittest and healthiest he has ever been. Pushing those limits meant training and eating like never before."

The diet was a daunting task. Hemsworth ate 8 to 10 meals a day, in order to digest his food properly. Zocchi revealed alongside Centr that meals were broken down between 450 calories each.

"He would eat roughly every 2 to 3 hours and would hit 6 meals a day while at work. Then he’d head home and get the remainder of his calories by eating a big dinner after a training session."

"A meal consists of roughly 450 calories with around 30-40% protein, 30% carbs, and 30% fat. I’m glad I wasn’t doing all the cooking because each meal is different – Chris wouldn’t eat the same thing every day and I can totally understand why when you’re eating so regularly."

As for the weight lifting sessions, the intensity was high, using high rep ranges to build muscle, while also choosing heavy weight loads to really expand his muscle fibers.
