Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has just landed a massive deal with the younger brother of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos which is set to make him US$200 million dollars rich.

On Friday morning, the Australian actor announced that the exercising app he created several years ago, Centr, had been acquired by a US investment company.

Mark Bezos Buys Exercise App From Hemsworth

Private equity firm HighPost, founded by David Moross and Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos' brother Mark, has acquired the Thor star's health and fitness app Centr for AUD $267mil, the equivalent of US $200mil.

Hemsworth announced to his 54 million Instagram followers that he was “thrilled” by the acquisition. Chris will be the second-largest shareholder behind HighPost.

HighPost has also acquired Inspire Fitness - a company that produces weights, rowing machines and other fitness-related equipment. They will combine the two companies to create a destination for all health and fitness-minded people.

"Thrilled to be working with Mark Bezos, David Moross and the entire HighPost team. As well as combining forces with first-in-class equipment manufacturer @inspirefitnessofficial," he wrote on his Instagram account.

"Huge thanks to all Centr members who've been with us along the way and excited for the future of the platform and app."

Hemsworth's New Worth Rises Even Further

According to Man of Many last year, Hemsworth's net worth was estimated to be around US $130million (AUD $173million) before the acquisition.

The Avengers: End game actor is believed to have seven-figure endorsement deals with TAG Heuer and Hugo Boss, and lives in an impressive $30million Byron Bay mansion with his family.

“I started Centr in 2019 with a vision to share my health, wellness and fitness experience with a broader community,” Hemsworth said in a past interview. He was inspired to start the app after finding himself asked more about his fitness regime than his acting roles.

“I pulled together people who helped me build the best version of myself, and it’s been an incredible journey being able to share knowledge that I’ve been fortunate enough to absorb,” Hemsworth revealed. The app isn't just for people trying to achieve the actor's impressive physique, it also caters to those looking to improve their overall fitness through functional workouts.

“I’m so passionate about my film career, but I love being more involved in the health and wellness space -- it’s what excites me and I want to put everything in it and make it the main focus,” Hemsworth said.
