Instead of opting to live in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles to advance his career, Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky moved their family to Melbourne. On top of that, when Hemsworth agreed to star in Thor: Love and Thunder, he got his kids roles in the movie.

Clearly, Hemsworth and Pataky love their daughter who was born in 2012, and their twin boys who he welcomed into the world in 2014. Unsurprisingly, Hemsworth has also made it clear that he adores his longtime wife. In fact, Hemsworth has said he experienced love at first sight.

However, reality isn't a fairytale and in 2020, Pataky spoke to the Australian magazine body+soul about the public's perception that she and Hemsworth are the perfect couple. During the resulting conversation, Pataky revealed her "relationship is constant work".

"It's funny that people think of us as a perfect couple. No way. It’s been ups and downs, and we still keep working at the relationship."

Later in the same interview, Pataky bristled at the idea that anyone would think that marriage is "easy". However, Pataky revealed one of the keys to her marital success. "I always try to see the positives of things."

When the most expensive celebrity marriages take place, people typically spend months on the preparations. However, that was impossible for Pataky and Hemsworth as they walked down the aisle only three months into their relationship.

In 2016, Hemsworth made an appearance on Good Morning Britain. During the resulting conversation, Hemsworth revealed that when he decided to marry Pataky it was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing.

'It did happen quick and it just felt right, it made sense." "There was no great plan to any of it to be honest. We were on holiday and we said 'why don't we get married too?' And then the next minute... There probably should have been some planning but it all worked out."

While some other stars have gotten married on a whim, Hemsworth and Pataky's wedding seems to have little in common with them as well. After all, they didn't elope or head to Las Vegas, and they've now been married for more than a decade.
