The road to the top is different for everyone. Sure, the view once you get there is a nice one, however, the struggle to get there is a very real one - just ask Chris Pratt who knows a thing or two about what it's like to work some tough jobs while making very little in return...

Among his jobs in the past included a brief three-gig run as a stripper. We imagine if he'd take on this role today, the 'Parks and Rec' actor would make a few extra bucks compared to his past.

We'll answer the question of how much he made during his days as a stripper, along with taking a look at some other harsh jobs he took on along the way to stardom.

Pratt Had Some Tough Jobs Early On

He was a dreamer from a young age, aspiring to be something great. Pratt wasn't entirely sure about that path and how to get there, though as he revealed to his wrestling coach at a young age, he wanted fame and the luxurious lifestyle that came with it.

“I told him, ‘I don’t know [what I want to do in the future], but I know I’ll be famous and I know I’ll make a sh*t ton of money,'” Pratt recalled, speaking to Entertainment Weekly.

“I had no idea how. I’d done nothing proactive. It was as dumb as someone saying, ‘I’ll probably be an astronaut. I’m sure I’ll stumble into an astronaut suit and end up in space one day.'”

The road to getting there was not an easy one. Pratt recalls basically being homeless at one point in his life, living out of a van. Things wouldn't get that much better once he started his Hollywood career, while trying to survive, he worked as a waiter, and let's just say the restaurant wasn't the finest. In addition, he was often caught eating off plates in the back...

The not-so-glamorous jobs wouldn't stop there, as Pratt revealed in other interviews in the past, he briefly worked as a stripper and the money wasn't very good.

Chris Pratt Made $40 Per Gig

At the very least, Pratt was okay with his nudity and he was more than comfortable with it, which likely made his job a little less awkward.

"I was always a very much naked person. I loved to always get naked. I was very free, so I thought, I may as well get paid," he stated alongside Buzz Feed.

Turns out, despite the sacrifice of exposing his body, the pay really wasn't all that great. He worked three-gigs total, making $40 per stripping appearance.

"[I would make] 40 bucks a pop. I did it three times, I did bachelorette parties in my hometown, my friend's grandma had me."

We assume had Pratt decided to strip nowadays, he would demand quite the premium, given that he's among the elite in Hollywood nowadays. Nonetheless, it is interesting to see his humble beginnings, which also included selling coupons at one point in time.

To his credit, he never gave up and Pratt ended up making the most of a limited-time spot on a certain show.

'Parks And Rec' Changed His Career

His big break turned out to be 'Parks and Rec'. Fittingly, it was only set to be a limited-time gig of a few episodes. Though the creators realized, he needed to stick around as a regular.

"Almost at the point of the audition, we were like, 'Oh, we have to reconceive this, because this guy's the funniest person we've ever seen. We're not letting that guy go'," series co-creator Michael Schur said.

Not only did he get paid for the gig but it also put him on the map and later, he would land a career-changing role on 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.

Despite all the fame and success, Pratt never forgot about his roots on 'Parks and Rec', and decided to stay on the show even when the other gigs started pouring in.

''I don’t care how much money someone would offer me or what I could be offered, I wouldn’t abandon ship. There’s no way. This team was awesome, and the process of making this show spoke to me and was so perfect for me like the way I like to work. Like it’s loose, and it’s fun, and you get to try something new every take, and you get to you have the opportunity of making Amy Poehler laugh or making Adam Scott laugh…”

Quite the story and turn of events.
