Irish actor Cillian Murphy has received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Tommy Shelby in the BBC drama series Peaky Blinders. The actor has led the series for five seasons and recently wrapped up filming on the final chapter of the show.

The 45-year-old actor made a virtual appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and revealed the memento he took from the sets of Peaky Blinders season 6.

Cillian Murphy Stole Tommy Shelby's Well-Tailored Coat

Not the iconic flat cap, Murphy decided a coat was the perfect memento! In the series, the men of the Birmingham gang Peaky Blinders wear flat caps with blades sewn into them, which they use as weapons during fights...or when anyone gets in their way!

When talk show host Jimmy Kimmel asked the actor if he took home a razor blade or snatched any mementos to take away from the set, the actor had a surprising answer!

"I can't ever wear a flat cap walking around," said Murphy, adding "I did take one of his [Tommy Shelby's] very nicely tailored coats 'cause they're you know, made for me."

He explained "It was very beautiful, I took that as a memento."

The overcoats and flat caps worn by the Shelby brothers in the series are unforgettable, especially when worn by patriarch Tommy Shelby. He is often seen dressed in a single-breasted black overcoat, which is heavily tailored from wool cloth, features peaked lapels and luxurious-looking black velvet collars.

Murphy also talked in detail about his musical career, from the time when he was part of a rock band. He was the lead singer, pianist, and songwriter of a band called Sons of Mr. Green Genes and turned down a record deal in the late 1990s to pursue an acting career.

Cillian discussed the revered music on Peaky Blinders, stating Australian singer Nick Cave had "been very generous with his music" along with "Radiohead, PJ Harvey and Tom Waits". The actor admired Cave for setting the foundation for the show's soundtrack by helping create it, along with his band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Murphy almost played DC comics superhero Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, but later appeared as Scarecrow in the three films.
