When viewers tune in to their favorite TV show or watch a movie and an intimate scene takes place, it usually seems like the featured actors are enjoying themselves. However, when most actors are asked about how it feels to film intimate scenes like that, they describe the experience as awkward.
When you think about that, it makes perfect sense that filming intimate scenes feels awkward since the people involved in those scenes usually are faking their passion and that is just strange. On top of that, it is pretty weird that actors have to make out with people they barely know, or worse yet, a co-worker you’ve come to see as a friend. Of course, many actors are only willing to talk about how strange it is to film intimate scenes in general. However, Colin Farrell bucked that trend when he spoke about kissing Kate Beckinsale while filming the Total Recall remake.

Best known as the star of the Underworld franchise, Kate Beckinsale has been a big movie star for many, many years at this point. Also seen in a slew of other movies, including The Last Days of Disco, The Aviator, Serendipity, and Much Ado About Nothing among others, Beckinsale has proven that she has real acting chops.
On top of earning the respect of her peers, viewers, and critics alike, there is no doubt that Kate Beckinsale has become one of the most notable beauties in Hollywood. Of course, Beckinsale’s amazing looks are partially caused by her wonderful genetics but she also works hard to stay fit. With that in mind, you may assume that anyone would give their left arm to film an intimate scene with her.
A Unique Guy
In Hollywood, a lot of actors are extremely careful about the things they say and do in public. On the other end of the spectrum, ever since Colin Farrell first rose to fame, it has often seemed like the guy holds nothing back. For example, he has always been incredibly forthright about the fact that he has consumed plenty of illegal substances, he regularly drinks heavily, and he has a very active libido.
While Colin Farrell’s antics have been a detriment to his career at times, in some ways it makes him a lot more entertaining for audiences. For example, when he works on a movie there is a much higher chance that he will be a lot more forthright than his peers would ever be about his experience. Hopefully, Colin Farrell’s unique personality makes him the perfect person to play The Penguin in the upcoming superhero movie, The Batman.

Considered by many people to be one of the most interesting action movies of all-time, 1990’s Total Recall packs a punch and a unique story based on a Phillip K. Dick story. For that reason, it wasn’t overly surprising that Hollywood chose to produce a Total Recall remake that was released in 2012. When Colin Farrell agreed to star in the 2012 Total Recall remake, he may not have realized how awkward his experience making that film would be at times. After all, the film was directed by Kate Beckinsale’s real-life husband at the time, Len Wiseman which meant that Colin had to kiss his boss’s lady.
During an appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Colin Farrell spoke about how he felt while filming that kissing scene. “(Kate’s) actually the director's wife. She's married to the director. [It was] moderately uncomfortable… Kissing her was a little bit dodgy 'cause the director, her husband, wasn't kind enough to leave the room. Being a director he had to watch the scene. It's a little bit creepy."
