In the decades since playing beloved character Monica Geller on Friends, Courteney Cox has also altered the way that she looks, although in recent years, fans have noticed that she started looking even more different.
Updated March 27, 2022: Courteney Cox has been very open about the work she has had done on her face. The 57-year-old Friends star has admitted to having a tonne of work done. At one point, Courteney said that even she thought she had gone too far with the surgery. Her opinions have changed too over the years; for example Courteney loved fillers, but she told New Beauty in 2017 that she had had all of her fillers dissolved, saying that fillers "are not my friend."
Courteney said she became addicted to surgery and was taking advice from the wrong people. After having "too much" work done to her face, Courteney has learned to embrace her natural self, accepting that she will change and age and that natural is best.

There's a long list of Monica's best Friends episodes as this character was so special, from her romance with her good friend Chandler Bing to her love of keeping everything in her apartment tidy (or maybe a little too tidy). Courteney Cox has always been very honest in interviews, and fans like this quality about the actress. In the yeares since Friends ended in 2004, the actress starred on the sitcom Cougar Town, and has also reprised her popular Gale Weathers role in the Scream franchise.
It was in 2017 that fans began noticing that Courteney Cox's face started looking different.
In an interview with New Beauty in 2017, Courteney explained that doctors tell women that fillers and injections would make them look even better, and then it just spirals, as more people recommend more doctors.
“So you walk out and you don’t look so bad and you think, no one noticed — it’s good. Then, somebody tells you about another doctor: ‘This person’s amazing. They do this person who looks so natural.’" Courteney said. "You meet them and they say, ‘You should just do this.’ The next thing you know, you’re layered and layered and layered. You have no idea because it’s gradual until you go, ‘Oh s–t, this doesn’t look right.'”

In Courteney Cox's case, she has removed fillers and looks amazing and natural. According to The Sun, she also said that she has "thin skin" and would prefer to think of her skin as having "smile lines" not wrinkles.
In 2019, Courteney Cox said she was done with fillers. According to People, the actress said that she felt awesome in the two years since she had her fillers taken out. She said, “So now I just embrace who I am and getting older with what God gave me, not what I was trying to change."
Courteney also talked about aging, which is so relatable: “I would say it’s a common thing you go through as you age, especially in Hollywood. You have to accept getting older, and that’s something that I had a hard time doing.”
Courteney talked about Botox and laser treatments and said that she didn't like the way that she looked after having those done. According to Harper's Bazaar, she said in an interview, "You look at a picture of yourself and go, 'Oh, God.' Like, you look horrible. I have done things that I regret, and luckily they're things that dissolve and go away. So, um, that's good because it's not always been my best look. So, now I have a new motto: 'Let it be.'"
